More Winter Mini Book

More snow again : ) And a child at home again too. Louis today, who is happy building new lego kits.
I made 2 more LO's last night for my snowy large mini book using all my scarlet lime goodies.
I love this one of Hollie. She was spying on the boys, hidden under the trees. Waiting for them to come through the school gate before throwing snowballs at them : )

Nicky sent me some gorgeous tickets in the post last week. I love them. Here is the first I've used.

My Snowy LO's

It's still snowing really hard and we still have about 6 inches or so. The kids are both at home today and we are having fun : )

I was so pleased with all the photos that I took yesterday and then on the UKS, scarletlime thread the girls started talking about setting ourselves a challenge to use as much of our old kits as poss. They are so jam packed of stash. So I started making this mini large book last night. It's A4 size and I'll bind up the top when it's all finished. I made 6 LO's last night to get me started.
Here are the first 3.

Oh boy has it snowed !!!!

We have so much snow today.
Hollie's school is closed, so we battled our way with Louis to Infants in this\\//

We couldn't see where the path ended and the road started. It was coming down so much it was landing on Louis's long eye lashes. We got to school over half an hour later to find out only the kids on the same estate as the school had gone in....why did we bother ???!!! And I've got to leave at 12.30 to go and collect him again as they as closing early.

Anyway, Hollie and I had fun on the way home.

Really pleased with how this has turned out.
It's for Shimelle's 'scrap like you mean it' challenge - week 5. The prompt this week is 'black & white'. I didn't want to go all black and white as I do like some colour. So I've changed my photo to black and white and added the October Afternoon PP to this months Scarletlime kit. I've also inked all the edges in black and made a couple of extra petals for the flower that came with the kit.

I plan to hang it in the hallway.

Back to the boy's sleepover, all went well and I survived : )

They were asleep just after 9pm and woke at 6.30am. Can't complain about that : )

Need to make a roast now. I've been neglecting the family due to my urge to 'make'.

Am I mad????!!! : )
I'm actually very excited. We've chosen wisely and the boys are very sweet. Fingers crossed all will go according to plan.

Anyway, here's my LO for Shimelle's sketch challenge on UKS this week.

It was during a walk last September in the woods and we found this clearing. It felt really magical finding a whole new woods. Louis loved it.

I've used part of an old scrapagogo kit and teamed it up with Basic Grey Mellow and a piece of old cork board.

Wish me luck for the sleepover....do you think I'll get much sleep????

Scrapagogo

You probably know how much I just love my scrapagogo kits every month : )
I was having a nose on their blog yesterday as the girls have been to the CHA (lucky lucky).
I then noticed a challenge that they've set whilst they are away and thought I'd join in.
The challenge is to use this months kit to make a LO about 'creating'.
So here's my LO about my kids love for scrapping.

I've torn up the big brown paper bag that the scrapagogo goodies came in and painted it white. As much as I love the bright colours from this kit, I wanted to tone them down abit.

So many kits....

I've got such a backlog of kits I'm working through. They are all so lovely, I just need to use them. Oh well....it's stopped me from splashing out elsewhere as I have a ridiculous amount of stash.
I took part in this weeks UKS challenge.
The challenge was to use black, red or gold, to feature an animal and to use stitching.

I've used my Decembers Scraletlime kit. Aren't these embellishments gorgeous ?!!

Confessions of a guilty mother....

When this LO was in the planning, it made me chuckle. Now it's made I'm feeling a touch guilty.
I need to sort my photos out, I'm doing such a bad job lately.

He really does moan though when he's cold. Not once or twice and now and then.....the whole time. This way, he's warm and happy and that makes the rest of us happy. So for the next few however many years, Louis can believe that all men wear tights under their trousers to keep warm.

I had planned to do a LO about this and took this photo purposely as we got in from a frosty walk over Christmas. Louis was so innocently running around like this after taking his jeans off and it just made me think.......you will not admit when you are 16 that you used to wear tights.

But he does look so funny and cute in them : )

Getting Stuck Back in

Yay.... I've finally created a LO that I'm happy with : ) It's been a while that I've made one and felt good about it. That's the feeling I've got with this one of Louis.

It's this weeks UKS challenge is to do the following:

Scrap a winter picture with summer colours, use stars or stripes (used my corrugated cardboard for this) Stitching and a handmade embellishment.

I took these pics of Louis whilst on a walk on 30th Dec. It was so frosty, the kids loved throwing stones on the frozen pond trying to crack the ice. I don't have any photos of the beautiful pond as I'm terrified of open water and had hold of the back of Louis's coat the whole time in fear he would fall when throwing.....if anyone would....he would !!!

I've got my unused and barely touched kits all open in my studio from over the last few months and I'm itching to get stuck in....I love that feeling : )

Our First Snowfall

Well, I'll start off by saying what a brilliant day I had yesterday. I travelled up with Steph (nerbird) to visit our friend Sue and Nicky met us there too. It really was a full on scrap day : )
I enjoyed myself so much. Sue's family are a hoot and Doug also cooked the most gorgeous dinner too. (I did have to undo my jeans I ate so much) So thank you to you and your family Sue, I loved every minute : )
I managed to finish a LO, make 2 more and a card and something with my UKS mystery kit too.

I nearly forgot to upload this LO that I made this week though.
It's this weeks UKS challenge. I've used the photos from our last day of the school hols.

The challenge was :

Fruity colours (I forgot this one ) Loops/circles, something recycled or old stash amd the theme is firsts or new beginnings.
