The Best Time

I've devoted a blog post to one particular 'daisy' today over at Cocoa Daisy.
I picked 'Margrethe for my 'Daisy Devotion' post.
Margrethe is fairy new to the boards but has slotted right in. She has a lovely scrapbooking style that I instantly took a shine to.
Take a look at the blog post here to see some of her work.

In the blog post you will see that I picked one of her LO's to lift.
I love how she uses colour and has such a way with multi photo LO's.
Here's my take on her LO using the new March Kit 'Pier 39'.

This LO is all about how we have the best time whilst in Florida.
We are planning the next trip and right now that's all I can think about : )

Visit Margrethe's blog to see more of her beautiful work.
Thanks for the inspiration Margrethe xx

Photo Blocks at LESSology

Hi there!!

As I mentioned earlier this week, we have been working on the challenge 'photo blocks' at LESSology.
This created lots of chatter between us as a design team. I can not believe how many different takes there are on this months challenge.
Here is mine.

I found this frame in a charity story (pic below) for just a £1.
I tore off the back and turned it in to the pic above.
The block at the back of the frame is 4x4inches and about 2inches deep.
I've included full step by step instructions on the LESSology blog here. (scroll down til you get to mine)

I loved making this even if the challenge did have me stumped.
Isn't that why we call them challenges though?!
Please do go and see what the others did. It's so fun to see how many different creations came from this. Here

Fancy a Sketch?

Good Morning.

I'm loving these lighter mornings.
The sky is looking beautiful.
So pleased Spring is on it's way.

I'm really loving the new Pier 39 Kit from Cocoa Daisy this month.
Alissa has set our Sketch challenge this month, it's just gone up here.

We've both used the new kit.
Here is my take.

I've replaced Alissa's rows of pp and pics with one long photo.
I've found this kit very peaceful, so the quiet photo on the beach (of Hollie) was perfect to match up.

I've used paints, mists and glimmer glam on the background paper and the tags.

I cut the tags down after making them and slipped under the photo.

Come and play along here.
Alissa's blog is well woth a look too. This girl is the queen of mini books!!

Hope you feel inspired xxx

A little baking and some sneaks

I hope you had a good weekend.
Last week was another busy week.
I did have some friends over after school on Thursday though so I took some time out to bake.

Hollie made these, Peaches and Cream Cupcakes.
Tinned peaches on the bottom of the case, vanilla cup cake batter on top and baked.
I then made this light vanilla cream frosting.
Vanilaa frosting with fresh cream whipped in.

I also made this spiced banana and chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting.
And I made flap jacks too.
We've had so much, I've been giving it away.

I also made a chicken Korma for dinner last week and made my own naans.
They are yum, the family say the best they've ever tasted.
A friend asked me for the recipe.
So here you go Claire : )

Now onto something crafty.
Although I haven't posted much these past few days, I have still bee busy.
This week we have a new challenge up on the LESSology blog here.
We have all been making Photo Blocks.
Here are our sneaks.

This one was definitely a challenge for me.
But I did it and here's my sneak.
We have been sponsored by http://scrappinsports.com/ for this challenge.
One lucky winner will receive a selection of patterned papers.
Our Photo Block creations will be revealed throughout the week, so don't forget to stop by.

I hope you are having a Happy Monday.

Love at First Sight,.......not

Hello!!!!

This month I got sent some lovely goodies from Papermaze to play with.
Very loved themed and seeing as it's the month of 'lurve' I decided after almost 7yrs, it was time to get our story documented.

I really like the white, hot pink and lime combo. Rather funky!
The papers were really fun to play with.

You can see my full blog post with more details over at Papermaze here.

I've been a little quiet this week, I haven't felt so well.
I'm been working really long hours lately. 4.30-5am ish til after 10pm at night.
Rushing out in between for school runs, shoving dinner in the crock pot, running the hoover round and giving the bathrooms a quick clean over and starting back again.
I know some think I'm a little crazy, but I love my buisness and I just have so many ideas all the time, but not the hours to match. Orders are coming in thick and fast and I'm just trying to keep on top of it all the time. But I like it this way. Plus the art side too. Planning future classes and the designing too.
But I started to feel unwell Monday night and ached all over Tuesday. I still worked but worked from the sofa : ) That was my compromise and kept dosing myself up.
Yesterday I felt heady but better and today I'm so sinusy. It hurts : (
But still happy. But not so much time for scrapping lately.
I am planning my next class in Swindon next month. We are art journaling and the girls have asked to do a canvas class using photos in April, so I've tons of ideas spinning in my head for that too.
The next Cocoa Daisy kit arrived this morning. It's really beautiful. Just what you need for the start of Spring. I might just have to have a little scrappy time later : )

2hrs before school run, I'd better make the most of that time.

Just For Fun

It's turning into a Cocoa Daisy week in my blog.

I have another Cocoa Daisy LO to share today.
We have started a 'Just for Fun' challenge each month.
'In with the new, out with the old'

Use your new kit with your leftover old kit.
Here's my LO I made to get the challenge started.

My Snow Patrol pics : )
They've come out ok, haven't they?!

The 2 kits compliment each other really well. The green thickers are from the Feb kit and the black from Jan.

For all you Cocoa Daisy subbers, the challenge will run from the international reveal (14th) of each month through until the 13th giving you a month to play along.

We will announce the winner during the international reveal and the winning LO will be featured on the Cocoa Daisy blog.
Play along with us here.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
I'm off to teach a canvas class in Swindon (Sparkle Dreams) tomorrow.
We've had a couple of ladies drop out last minute, so if you fancy making this.

Then click here for more details.

By the Numbers - Part 2

Some more today using the 'By the Number's Cocoa Daisy Feb kit.

I made this card for a friend's birthday.

I used MME PP and Fun Days Circle Garland.
A Sassafras whimsey card and I played with some paint, a Crafters Workshop template with moulding paste & Maya Road mists on the tag.

Being a number themed kit, it was perfect for Louis' 10th birthday LO.
I decided to give him a mini interview.
Love this number stamp in the kit.

We are doing something new every month now. At each International Reveal we will be showing some 'inspirational kit prompts'. Different ways of using the kit.
Take a look at this months here.
I always love to see how diferent people use the same items. Always an eye opener.

Have a great day xxx

By the Numbers - Part 1

We had our international reveal last night at Cocoa Daisy.
I love designing with these talented ladies each month.
We are a close team. We chat and share things. I've been on teams before and you just design for the same team and get added to the same bulk emails that get sent out. Cocoa Daisy isn't like that at all. It's such a friendly team to be part of. I'm sure that helps where creativity is concerned.

Here is some of my work this month using the February 'By the Numbers Kit'.

Off to the cinema with the kids now.

It's all about the music

We had a fantastic evening yesterday.
We went to see Snow Patrol at the o2 in London.
We are lucky enough to have access to a VIP suite through Ade's work, so get to see quite a few events. This is up there with the best.

I had loved their music for quite a few years now, but live. It's always so much better isn't it?!!

And you have to love the Irish accent, don't you?!!

Then we got home, sat in bed with a cuppa at 2.15am and heard the sad news about Whitney Houston. So Sad!!
All through my teens all the girls loved her. We all danced to her music at friend's birthday parties and discos.
Really sad.

We have something new happening at Cocoa Daisy on Tuesday.
I will share more details and sneaks tomorrow.
Have a lovely Sunday xxx

US 3

Not really a big fan of snow. Hopefully it will all melt soon.
To brighten up the day I have a sunny page to add to my blog.
Full of October Afternoon goodness.

And here is the sketch that inspired me over on the October Afternoon blog.

I've used these large alpha stickers for a small title and layered up lots of October Afternoon stickers. I backed them onto bazzill so they stand out a little more.

I made this sun and used the October Afternoon Sprinkler - Comet Tail. I love this colour.

A little tearing and some stitches here and there

I'm going to pop this on a little easle on my desk now. I need some warmth on this snowy day.

Talking of snowy, we are off to see Snow Patrol tomorrow at the London o2.
Rather apt.
Being the way Ade is, we will be very prepared. Snow shovel, blankets, water, flasks and food.

Keep warm : )
Lots of love xxx
