Who Am I?

A sketch challenge at The Studio this week.
I do love a good sketch and this weeks is so much, plus with the added challenge of adding a homemade embellishment.

Here's mine, all about the game we like to play 'Who Am I?'
Click on the photo to read the rules on how to play.(if you fancy playing of course)

I loved this challenge this week. If you fancy it, visit here to play along.

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday.
I have a full house and a full belly. The sign of a good Sunday I think.

Freshly Made

Good Morning,

I hope you are well on this fine Saturday morning.
I've just struck up a deal. I'm staying home to do chores whilst Hollie does homework and Ade gets to take Louis out in the cold to footy. I do stand in the cold for an hour every Wednesday evening and watch him, so I don't feel guilty about not going and right now I'd rather clean bathrooms than stand out in the cold : )

This is my last week with Twisted Sketches.
I've had fun with the sketches and will still be playing along when I get chance.
The twist this week was 'fresh'.
The week I made this page, Louis and I had made jam tarts together.
Pretty much everything is made fresh in our home. I really really enjoy it.
It's not a snooty thing or anything, I do honestly get a kick out of making stuff from scratch.
The kids have had freshly made juice this morning, Pineapple, apple, lime and spinach juice. I made pie for dinner last night and cut out butterflies with the leftover pastry to decorate the tope of the pie. (although I do confess the pastry was bought in)
It's just something that I like doing.

Surprise surprise, another Cocoa Daisy kit here. The December kit.
But the fresh colours were so perfect for this page and I love the rubbon.
I do look at this page now though and I think I need a splash of red ink : )

Right, I'd better go and get Louis ready. We are all still in pjs and he's supposed to be on the pitch in 15mins.
If you want to see the Twisted Sketch I used, you can see it here.

Enjoy your day xxx

Sketches 2 Scrapbook - New App

Good Morning,

Rather cold out there today.
For those of you with Ipods and pads, the latest 'Sketches 2 Scrapbook' app has been launched today.
Ideal if you scrap on the move.
Only $3.99 providing you with tons of sketches and wonderful inspiration.
You can find out more here.
Here's my page that I made using the sketch I was given.

I love this photo of my two taken whilst we were camping. Happy Days : )
I used the 'Love Birds' papers from Fancy Pants. I just love this colour combo and seems so fitting scrapping a girl/boy page.
Lots of hand stictching on this one. Kept me out of mischief for a while : )

So, to all of you heading out to CHA this weekend (no I'm not jealous!!!) have a fab time and happy weekend to everyone else.

Sneaky Peeks and a Perfect Day

Hello Scrappy Friends,

I'm tired and have a headache today.
The first thing Ade would say is 'what have you drunk today?' and my answer would be '2 lattes'. So there's my answer eh?! I think I need some water and I guess I should eat really too.

Anyway, I'm kind of mumbling to myself now.....
Want to see a page I made recently?
Remember that perfect Sunday we had earlier this month? Well, I did a page all about it. Whilst we were on our walk, there was a motorist mirror by the woods. It's a lovely setting there. In the midst of the common land right by the woods is a row of about 7-10 houses. Each detached and very individual. I would love to live there. There's no lighting though, so it must get so dark at night and the only road to access these houses is a long windy single track stoney road which passes a big pond. It really is lovely. On the bend just before the houses is this round dirty mirror and this is where I took the photo of us.

The LO is based on this months Cocoa Daisy Sketch which you can see here.
You can join in too. The contest rund until Jan 31st, so there's still time.

Most of the bits are from the latest Cocoa Daisy kit, with a few bits and pieces thrown in like this old Making Memories clip.

I've just done a blog post for C.D. all about when you make a page, it's the 'little bits' that catch your eye. These are what I like doing best on a page I think.
Adding the staples, a few hand stitches, a flick of the ink...

You can read my blog post here if you like.

And this week I've had the pleasure of playing with the lovely new Cocoa Daisy kit.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm it is yummy scrummy!!
Here's a sneaky peeky.
We launch the kit later tomorrow on the C.D message boards. There will be lots of chat and games. Come along and see. It'll be lots of fun.

Now food and paracetemol for me I think.
See you soon xxx

9 Today - A Mini Book

Yes, my baby is 9 today and has been celebrating his birthday since 4.15am.
Don't ask!!!!
Rather than making him a card this year, I bought a lego one and made this mini book celebrating his last year instead.
(all photos can be clicked on to enlarge)

I have no idea why this photo is on it's side, but I just can't flip it (rolls eyes)
A very Sassafras mini book. Just perfect for fun and little boys.

We are going to our fave chineese restaurant tonight with spinny table booked at Louis' request. Lets' just hope we will be able to stay up that late : )

Thank you for looking and stopping by xxx

Goals

Have you seen this weeks challenge at The Studio?

With the new year upon us, a lot of people have been focusing on their resolutions for 2011. With that in mind, we'd like to hear about a LONG TERM goal of yours. Do you have a big ambition? Let's create a layout reflecting on these goals as a reminder of what we one day hope to achieve.

I've used my November Cocoa Daisy kit. I love the photo Ade took of me and how the sun caught the lens.
If you want to join in, visit The Studio here.

Thank you for all the lovely comments re my last post xxx

GDT and a Giveaway!!

Hello : )

Monday morning, I hope you had a good weekend.
Yesterday flew by unfortunately. A family day, games, nice food and stuff, but also homework, ironing etc....We did watch a movie late afternoon, Louis snuggled into me and bought his super soft fleece blanket, which meant only one thing. I snoozed!!
I am determined to never actually watch the Harry Potters in full.

I did mean to blog yesterday, but it never happened, but I was really excited to show you this:
(you may click to enlarge if you wish)

I used lots of the Fancy Pants 'Tradition' collection. The 'Believe' card, the journal note, the buttons and brads.

I got asked to be GDT this week by Anna for Pencil Lines. How cool is that?!! I had the biggest smile when I found out : ) I was so excited.
So this is my page and you can see the sketch, the other DT pages and play along here too.

I delved into my wonderful box of ScrapRat goodies and used the script paper and lace.

And also these vintage handtyped words.
You can buy these pieces here.
This page is all about my Hollie and believing more in herself. She was always so individual and happy that way, but since starting senior school, the importance of being popular is so important to her. I feel she's not always true to the person she is : (
She's happy though and doing well in classes, but it does make me sad a little. She refuses to where her glasses and says and acts in ways that aren't really her.
I guess it's just another phase.

And lastly today, I have a little giveaway.
It's been ages since I've done this. I'm so grateful to everyone that stops by and all the lovely messages, thank you.
Please just leave a comment saying 'hello'and your fave scrap technique and become a follower.
I'll randomly pick a winner next Sunday morning and announce.

Thanks again for popping by today.
Lots of love xxx

Turning Nine

Yay for the weekend!!!!

My baby is turning nine this week. It doesn't seem possible.
I was asked this month by Fancy Pants to pick a LO from the Fancy Pants Facebook page and lift it. I chose Monique's page here.

And here's the LO that I made using Monique's as inspiration.

I used the Fancy Pants Love Bird and Trick or Treat papers.
This is my page about Louis turning 9.
Please check out the Fancy Pants blog for more details and 'how-to' information.

If you want to see the latest CHA sneaks for what's coming up with Fancy Pants, check out their blog.

Louis had his birthday sleepover last night, it went really well.
We all watched Avatar until 10.30pm and the boys then went straight to sleep. Not a peep until 8am. Now you can't moan at that, can you?!

This afternoon for me, more accounts, some work using the new Cocoa Daisy Feb kit that arrived yesterday, some spicy sweet potato soup that I made for lunch and I want to get a chili on in my beautiful new Crockpot that also arrived yesterday. I have a LO idea for that, so will need to get the camera out.
Plus, family TV tonight. We are all hooked on the series Primeval. It's series 4 and we've watched since the beginning. Love it, dinosaurs and monsters.

So with all that, I'd better get on.
Have a lovely Saturday.
I have exciting stuff to share tomorrow, so pop back and see.
Hugs xxx

Thursday 20 January 2011

Excuse me....

...whilst I slurp my soup. Multi tasking again.

It's Thursday again.
So here's my new page for Sketchy Thursdays.
A day out at Arlesford Railway.

(click on pic)

And here's this weeks sketch that inspired me.

I really like this snapshot of the 4 of us onboard the old train.
Those seats were so comfy and bouncy, nothing like todays trains.

I used lots of My Minds Eye on this page.
And also used Sue's sewing machine. Although it went all wonky, so I pretended it was meant to be that way.

I finished off my page and then decided to pull the top right hand corner away and punch through.
You can join in and add your page here for this weeks sketch.

If you fancy trying out for Feb's guest designer spot, take a look at the sketch here. You have until Sat 22nd to upload.
Good luck.

My soups almost cold now, time to go : )

Snow Fun

This is my page that I mentioned last week.
The page I made for Twisted Sketches.
I love that photo of Louis, so cheeky!!

The twist to this challenge was 'winter' so I headed straight for my Fancy Pants box and for the Hot Chocolate collection.
I love these papers : )

There will be a new sketch and twist today. Take a look here.

Time is an issue today, so much to do and I seem to be easily distracted.
Infact I really shouldn't be here now. We all deserve a break though, don't we?!!
So back to work for me now.

Leftovers

Good Morning,

After a terrible nights sleep and feeling shattered this morning, I'm keeping this brief today. **yawn**

I made these cards this month using my Christmas paper leftovers given
to me by Papermaze. They are all from the 'Snow Day' collection from Crate.

You can see the blog link here with more details and links to the supplies.

I also have this page to show you. I went through my goodie box from Scrap Rat and came up with this.

I love these canvas tags. Just so many possibilities.

And I made these flowers from the book pages here.
If you haven't visited the Scrap Rat store, I recommend you do. It's like a little Aladdins Cave. Full of goodies.

Have a good day xxx

My My...

I think it's going to be one of those weeks.
One of those weeks where my 'to-do' list is way too big and as I cross one thing off, I add two more to the list.
**Deep Breaths**
It's all about prioritising eh?!!

So, before I wrap up warm and in waterproofs for the school run, I just wanted to add this layout I made this weekend to my little blog diary.
(I never thought of it as a diary until the other day. It's always lovely when people stop by and read and leave lovely comments, but for me it's a great way to share a snippet of our lives with my family and friends who live further afield. Ade and I sat here the other evening and went back a couple of years, randomly selecting posts to read. It bought back some really good memories. It really is like a little diary with piccies : ) )

Anway, here's that LO.
I popped over to the My Minds Eye blog the other day and saw a sketch that really caught my eye. You can see it here.
One of my most recent favourite collections is by MME. Lost and Found.
I had a load in a kit and then had to go and order more as I loved it so much.

The theme of the page was to be 'Winter'. Ade took this photo of me a couple of years ago. The kids got bored in the snow and left us to it. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

I've cut up the papers enabling me to make lots of little details.

So this week, I have tons of work, accounts still sitting there, a birthday cake to make, a sleepover party still to plan for Friday this week and all the food shopping to go with it. I think I need convincing that the sleepover party of 8-9yr old boys was a good idea. It was, wasn't it??!!

Happy Mondays xxx
