Last Minute Page

Do you like this weeks Sketchy Thursdays sketch?
I wasn't going to join in this week. We are split into DT Teams and this week is the other teams turn, but incase you haven't noticed, I join in every week, my team or not. I think I've only missed a couple since I've been on the DT which is almost a year now. I just love these sketches and would join in anyway. I find it hard not to take part.
So this one was very last minute. I'm having such a busy week, but just couldn't resist and had to join in.

I used a couple of photos taken whilst at Chessington Zoo on Sunday.
I don't have many photos of Hollie as she was a miserable 'wannabe teen' all afternoon. Obviously the zoo isn't a cool place to go anymore **rolls eyes**.
But Louis had fun, so that was good.

I love using the Claudia Helmuth paints. The tecture to them is just great. You really do get what you pay for I have to say when it comes to paints I've found.

So today is sunny : ) and Hollie has a lovely friend over for a sleepover. They are currently baking triple choccie cup cakes. I think they will be very sweet. Hollie misread the recipe and added 2+abit cups of sugar instead of 2/3 of a cup. I tried to take some out but all the cocoa powder was mixing in. So we'll leave this one down to experience I think.
Yesterday the 3 of us bakes Red Velvet Cupcakes and they were very yummy.

I hope you are all enjoying your week if you are home with the kids too.
Don't forget to join along with the Sketchy Thursdays Sketch this week. The prize is really really good this week. Go take a look here.

See you soon xxx

Coffee House

It's a busy week.
The kids are off school and work has really hotted up. I'm talking 4.30am starts and finishing 10-11pm. With trying to keep on house chores, kids stuff and meals in between. I'm lucky that the kids are easy these day. I'm tired this week though.

Saying that my new Cocoa Daisy kit arrived last week. I thought I'd share some glimpses of what I've been enjoying these past few days.
I think I can honestly say this is my fave to date.
It's called 'Coffee House' and will go one sale on the 1st March here.

Here's a sneak of the main kit.
I designed the coffee Cup Stamp : )

And the addons are the best ever.
I love them so so much.

I hope you like the look of those too.
Are they tempting?

Right, dentist trip for the kids and myself. Yay!!!
(did that sound convincing????)

Have a good day xx

In the Frame

I loved this weeks challenge at The Studio and knew immediately what I wanted to do.
It goes like this if you want to join in:

Frames! Use a frame of some kind on your page. Frame your picture or your whole layout, just get a frame or two on there!

I've been keeping this Sassafras paper for quite some time now with this kind of idea in mind. I knew I wanted to cut out these little frames and use them like this.

So I took a piece of greyboard and covered it in this Prima fabric, painted it over with gesso and added my little frames.
Cute!!

So how are you going to add a frame or frames to your project this week?
Pop along to The Studio and see what the other members of the DT did. Don't forget to upload your projects to The Studio.

We are heading for a wander around Chessington Zoo now. Time to wrap up, it feels soooo cold today.
Lots of love xxx

Footy, a Sketch and a Winner

This week I've been working on this.
I took these photos on Saturday at Louis' footy match. Their first ever win : )
I used this months Cocoa Daisy sketch. And the papers are from the latest Cocoa Daisy kit.

For the title, I placed Jillibean corrigated alphas down, misted over them and then removed them again to reveal the title.
I really enjoy doing this.

If you would like to see the sketch and join in with Cocoa Daisy, you can do so here. The sketch challenge runs until Feb 28th.

As promised, a winner has been picked to win the Sketches 2 Scrapbook app.
Comment no4 was randomly picked. This is Lynnda Hosni. Lynnda, please email me.
lisa@funkyfairies.co.uk and I'll email you your code for the freebie app.
Cheers : )

Not much planned for this weekend. The kids have broken up from school for the week. We have an early start tomorrow. Louis has an away footy match 40 miles away. Yes, that's definitely away....far away! Hollie has a sleepover to go to tomorrow, but nothing as yet planned for Sunday. We'll see what the weathers like.

Enjoy the start to your weekend xx

Hair 'n' Stuff

Here it is...the next Sketchy Thursday sketch.
I likey this one lots. Sometimes I need a little encouragement with these multi photo pages.

I used a series of photos that I took Saturday night. Rubishy quality snapshots. But they show true life in our house.

They show Hollie's love for playing with Hair and Ades love for having his hair played with : ) It also shows that these two can get on (they share a love/hate relationship most of the time)

I used a whole combo of stuff on this page. I keep all my monthy kits in 12x12 plazzie bags in a bag. So from time to time it's good to have a rummage and to see what I can find that I never realised I had.
Like the little Ameraican Crafts badge. I have so many of these.
I found some large Jenni Bowlin Bingo cards and lots of October Afternoon sticker sheets. And I love the big 12x12 sheet of Sassfrass sticker strips from the Indie collection. I even found this in a bag.
It's quite fun doing this, picking a few bits and pieces and throwing it onto a page.

By the way, from the comments from my last page...Anne, it was all hand stitched, not machined. I still havn't got the machine out. It scares me!
And Emma, that blue strip is from another Sassafras 12x12 sticker stip sheet. From the Mix and Mend collection.

Now, my noodles are going cold and I'm really hungry. So time to go.
If you want to see how the other Sketchy Thursdays girls used their multi photo sketch, then visit Sketchy Thursdays here.

Tanks from your visit,
love from a very hungry Lisa xx

Once Upon a Time

Today, my blog post is all about story telling.
I've just launched this months challenge over on Cocoa Daisy
'Once Upon A Time'.

The challenge is to create a page that tells a story.
Steering away from the regular 'who-where-when'.
A page that maybe had you not have made, this story could well have been forgotten weeks, months, years down the line.

It could be something silly, a funny story, maybe how you met your partner or how you chose your kids names. A day out...the ideas and stories are endless.
I love telling stories through scrapbooking and encourage others to do this, this month too.

Here's my page using this months Cocoa Daisy kit:
(click photo to enlarge)

and my story.

I love this kit so much.
Love the colours, the texture and oooohhhh the papers are to scrap for.

Come over to Cocoa Daisy if you fancy joining in.
You can read more about the challenge and prize here. The deadline is 10th March.
There are still a few more kits if you fancy treating yourself here. Lots of Sassafras, a great bubblewrap stamp, cute rubbons, thickers...it's a yummy kit.

Lots of love xxx

Pleasure

It's been a nice and peaceful weekend and the rain has finally stopped and the sun is shining today. So much so that I've had to pull the blind down in here.
Feels really sinful to do that, but I can't see my pc screen otherwise.

I've had a LO in the making all weekend.
I haven't had much time to scrap so a few minutes grabbed here and there, this has been made.
I used the colorcombo from The Color Room.
I love this challenge site and haven't joined in for such a long time.

We've been thinking about Florida lots this week. This time last year we were there.
Happy memories, very happy memories. We all long to go back.
I scrapped these photos when we popped by to Disneys Pleasure Island. Lots of fun shops and reasturants. Nice just for a wander. Louis loved the big lego store, we spent a small fortune in the Disney store and the kids played with the largest amount of Mr Potato Heads I've ever seen.

One thing I find when I use a colour combo as inspiration, I often tend to raid my older papers. I pick a selection of papers and embellishments with mists and sprays, line them up on my desk and just create with what's infront of me. This way of scrapping seems to really suit me.
I used up some old Prima and Making Memories 'Noteworthy' here.
Also thrown in...pink netting, mists, acrylic paints and some stitching.

I hope you had a lovely weekend and feel fit and ready for this new week ahead.
Thanks for stopping by xxx

Just Cards

What to do on a rainy Sunday???
I just can't be bothered to do anything today.
We had a lie in and Ade bought me latte in bed whilst I read for a bit.
We all played 'Board Game' on Wii Party Games. (our family fave right now)
I've since had a bubble bath and read some more.
Had a tidy up, kids are playing and Ade's pottering.
I'm thinking of baking lemon muffins and fixing Mexican for a late lunch/early dinner. Nachos, Tacos, Salad and rice.
I need an energy boost.

Today is just cards.
The Studio is having a card challenge today.
A great challenge with some fab DT inspiration too. Take a look here.

And following on from my last 'Sketches 2 Scrapbook' post.
There is now a 'sketches 4 cards' app too.

The same idea as the 'Sketches to Scrapbook' but for cards now too.

Here is my card I made using the sketch I was sent.

Using the Fancy Pants Trick or Teat collection.

If you'd like to find out more about this app, you can read all about it here.

I have a free giveaway from the newest 'Sketches 2 Scrapbook' if you read my post below.

Enjoy your Sunday xxx

The Story Maker

Another Thursday, which means two things...the weekend is getting close and there's a new Sketchy Thursdays challenge : )
Here's your new sketch.
A three piccie page this week.

I've scrapped about my little story maker. He lives in a make believe world of battles, portals and monsters and writes stories all the time.
It's something I really like him doing.

And I've used one of my fave paper lines right now 'Love Birds' by Fancy Pants.
So cute!!!

Visit Sketchy Thursdays to see more LO's from the DT.
We also have a new Guest Designer challenge open for next month.
If you would like to give it a go, click here, for the sketch and simply create a LO and leave us a link to it in the comment box.
It could be you!! You have until 19th Feb to enter.

Louis is home from his Tudor school trip. He had a lovely time. He was filthy when I collected him off the coach. I asked him why he was so dirty and he said 'Because you only packed me one sweater'. 'Noooooooooooooooooooo'!!!! Can you believe he wore the same sweater for 3 days?? Just imagine what his teacher muct think. And there in his case were his nicely ironed and folded clean sweaters and tops that I had packed and he hadn't bothered taking out. Cheeky little thing!

I fancy making a page tonight. Ade's out with work and I had planned originally to work as I have so so much to do right now. But I'm tired and I fancied an early night, bath and bed. But I may just squeeze in some scrappy time : )

Hope you are well.
Thank you for stopping by.
Love always xxx

Love this.....

For me it's family time.
I love it, just the 4 of us.
Here is a page I made for Fancy Pants last month using the Love Birds papers.
I was asked to make a Love themed page.
I'm not a gooey lovey dovey type person, so rather than make a sugary sweet page, I concentrated on something that makes me happy and my family happy.

I love our local walks and us spending time together.

Well, it's nice and sunny today. Louis is hopefully having a great time on his school trip. It was rather nice getting up this morning rather leisurley. Hollie sorts herself out now, so I wasn't really needed.
We are having a girlie afternoon after school though. A good ol' chick flick
(Along came Polly) and toffee popcorn on the sofa. Looking forward to that.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a good day xxx
