A new challenge blog.....

I've found this blog last week and had fun making this LO using the colour combo:
gypsey red, marshmellow, powder blue and deepest grey.
Here's the blog:
http://www.colorcombosgalore.blogspot.com/

I've roughly painted a old piece of 12x12 card with some pearl paint and mixed in a few strokes of blue. The pearl really does give a rich marshmelloey look, I really like the effect. I've combined some Jenni Bowlin paper with some sassafras, more paint and then some jenni Bowlin bits and sassafras alphas : ) xx

Plus 1

I've just finished this LO of our walk at the Look Out at Bracknell forest Sunday teatime with our lovely little puppy 'Poppy'. We really are enjoying having her as part of our family. She has fitted in so well with us.....so the title 'Plus 1' is Poppy : )
My inspiration for the LO has come from Nicky's challenge on Just Bex. To create a project with things that would grow in the garden, but not using flowers (I hope you haven't seen the little net flower...as it's see through I don't think it counts : ) )
All these fab products used on my LO are from this months ScarletLime Kit, with the exception of the green lace and velvetty strip. That has been taken from a gap top of mine.....the joys of scrapbooking eh?!! xx

It's all about the babies today xxx

After coming back from my sister's last night and meeting my new baby niece, who according from a text this morning is 'Millie', I have created her first LO.

I've used this months Cocoa Daisy kit.

And this next LO which I made last night is of my baby, my poorly baby : (
This is when Louis had appendicitus in August, just when he was wheeled out of the theatre. Ade took it with his phone, it's come out quite well really.

I've used a smaller add-on kit from Scarlet Lime and added some scraps of paperchase monster tissue left over from Ade's birthday....which funnily enough was the day that Louis was poorly.

This LO is inspired by the weekly UKS challenge. xx

ps.....Thankfully Louis is well again and running around as if nothing ever happened : ) xx

It's all about Recycling

I've just taken part in a challenge today within a group called 'Overlooked'.
Day to day things that get overlooked. This weeks prompt is recycling.
I have loved making this LO and realise how easy it is to make somthing.....basically out of not much really.

I've done my LO on a 12x12 piece of board that came at the back of an order of 12x12 papers to stop them bending. This was in my recycling box.The corrigated card was in the bin, the little luggage tag has just been taken off a rusty pickle button jar, the brown parcel wrap was in the paper bin and the little leaf was on the back door mat (until I nabbed it for my LO).
The handmade papers in the background have been in my handmade paper cupboard for quite some time now and I've painted over the top of them with this mornings tea bag to give a richer colour.
I'm quite chuffed with the result and will definately play this game again.....thanks for a fab challenge Fay xx

The New Arrival

Yay.....My little sister's babe has finally arrived : ) Baby no-name arrived yesterday morning at 10.10am....little baby girl. She came home later that afternoon. We are heading over later when the kids finish school.
I've just finished this card for them using this weeks sketch on:
http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/

I used 'my minds eye' card stock from my Cocoa Daisy kit and a notelet from Making Memories 'animal crackers' I was completely inspired by the design team on 2 sketches 4u and ended up using a clear card, like some of the girls. It's been a while since I got the acetate out. I've written on the back of the card before attaching it to the acetate with satin ribbons and decorated the edges with more flowers to continue the design....thanks for the inspiration 'sketchy' girls xx

Kits Glorious Kits.....

What a lucky girl I am : ) Within the last 10 days I have received 4 monthly kits (greedy greedy me) 2 Cocoa Dasiy kits, Scrapagogo and my first Scarlet Lime. They are all just scrummy and crying out to be used.
I've managed to delv into all 4 now.
This LO of my heavily pregnant Sis & I was made using one of my Cocoa Dasiy Kits. I love all the random bits and pieces that come with these kits. Bits I wouldn't usually buy or think to use.
I've made another couple of LO's over the weekend and have more planned, so watch this space.... xxx

Busy Busy Busy.....

Yesterday, I had such an exciting moment. Not only did the postie bring my lastest Cocoa Daisy kit but he also bought my first Scarlet Lime kit : )
Check this out: http://www.scarletlime.com/kits/kits.html
I was so excited when I opened them up that I had to ring Nicky Noo straight away.
I made this LO last night using the Scarlet Lime kit. Then I set a challenge on Just Bex this morning to create something using reds/greens and abit of touchy feely......do like abit of touchy feely!!
I've made a couple of cards this afternoon. Both kids have birthday parties to go to next weekend. This is an old sketch challenge of Sue's on Just Bex.
These papers are just so easy to use for boys cards which always get me stumped. I got mine from Sassy Crafts: http://sassycrafts.co.uk/item_336/Cogsmo-8x8-Paper-Pad.htm

And here last but not least the wonderful 2 sketches 4 u girls. Another fab sketch this week.http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/ Hollie has been invited to the most generous birthday celebration next week. A friend Lara is 10 next Sunday and has invited Hollie and another 2 girls to London with her and her family. They are having lunch, going to see The Lion King at the West End then having Mcdonalds and getting the train back.....how cool is that??!! (that's why there's a Lion on the card) xx

Here's 2 I made earlier....

I wanted a day off from work today, but sadly it didn't happen. I finally stopped to scrap at 1.15pm.....just 1.5 hrs before heading off to school. Ohe well, this is what I achieved in this time.
This was Bex's challenge this week on Just Bex:
http://justbex.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3371

A sketch to follow and to be made in 15mins (didn't quite achieve that part)
I used this months Scrapagogo kit.
Then I followed a sketch for this LO from Sassycrafts. I used the new Basic Grey papers (offbeat). See here:http://sassycrafts.co.uk/category_100/Basicgrey.htm xx

A JB competition

Tracey recently set a competition on 'Just Bex'
http://justbex.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=15
Quite simply to show the sweetness of your summer.

This was taken during the summer hols in 2006 down in Bournemouth, but the jornaling reflects on how I am feeling with the children going back to school this year after the summer hols.

I've used a mish-mash of products...some of an old cocoa dasiy kit (the cream flocked card stock above is lush) , some making memories passport range, a couple of jenny bowlin bits and a tinsey bit of my scrapagogo kit : ) xx

LOL

These are the first pic I've scrapped of Dad's visit.
Louis has really got into the old cartoons lately, Tom & Jerry, The Pink Panther, Road Runner etc.... and just laughs out loud at all the silly things going on, just like I remember my Dad doing. I was really looking forward to seeing them watch the cartoons together when Dad was over.

This is this weeks challenge at UKS:
2 use....3 or more patterned papers.....I've used 5 patterned papers from Scenic Route, Sassa Fras and KI Memories.
5 or more lines of journaling
a cluster of embellishments (3 or more closely together) - my brads
and bling - I've printed the top of my title on sparkley ivory card.

Looking Back.......

This past week has been all about looking back. Bamps died and Dad's visited from the States and has sadly left this morning : ( The funeral was lovely, it was so nice being with Aunts and Uncles and cousins who I grew up so close to but haven't seen much in my adult years.
We've gone through old photos and the last of Nanny and Bamppy's belongings. Brings sad and happy feelings.

At the weekend I was looking through some older photos of ours that has been saved and not printed. I found some of hollie back in 2005 when she was 5. She never wanted her hair cut and I used to tell her that if she had the ends off it would grow back quicker........so she cut her whole fringe off !!!!!!!!!
I've used a combo of Making Memories passport range and ribbons and some bits from my latest Cocoa Dasiy kit xx

Friday 12 September 2008

Love is.....

I found these old piccies of Ade and I back in 2005.
I've used them for this weeks UKS challenge. Aswell as following the sketch, you have to use black and white, 9 embellishments and stamping : ) xx

And on a lighter note.......

First off, here's the lighter note ....actually I don't know if it really is, as this is something that deep down really annoys me. The LO is titled 'You Win Again'
The challenge was set over at UKS things to be included were:
A Beegees title, bling, ribbon, buttons and red. (I forgot about the bling and then later added 3 diamantes on the arrow)
I instantly thought of this title as soon as I read the ingrediants for this LO.
The fact is.....Ade goes out to win EVERY game we play. It really annoys me......let the kids have a chance Ade!!!!!!!!! (click photo to read jornaling)

Now for the more serious LO.
Nicky set a Friday night challenge on Just Bex. To make a project using black, cream and red.
I knew this would be LO using photos from the old box of photos I have from Nanny and Bamppy. I starting looking through this morning and I have lots from Bammpy at Pegasus Bridge in France. The colours all go perfect, but I need more history and info before I can scrap them. So I found this old original postcard of the Berlin Wall. I've scanned and scrapped it.

I find all this history fascinating and have added the background info behind the wall with dates and facts of the fall of the wall too. I remember when it came down, I was living in Germany at the time. It was such a big deal. My nan had a piece of the wall on her mantle piece as a momentom. I wonder where that is now???????????????????????? xx

Here's one I made earlier.....

I did make this card this week for '2sketches4u'. I just got around to photographing it today.
