I Love this Spot

Good Morning,

Another dry morning here in the south of the UK. Second in a row infact.
Too good to be true : )

Sunday morning means a new challenge at The Studio.
Here you go.

Scrap a local landmark.

I don't have a landmark, but more a place.
I love our walks to our local common (i really hate that word, wish it could be called something else)
5-10mins walk from home and we are in the middle of nowhere.

This part of 'the common' has the airfield. The operating airfield, which is great we love watching the little planes taking off and landing over us, but we also have the disused runway (on the photo) that we walk on. It's so flat and perfect for the kids scooters but surrounded by woodlands and commonland. Great for wildlife and blackberry and apple picking right now. Love it here.

Please come over to The Studio and play along.
You still have until September 4th for your crop entries too.

One last thing, the lovely Tessa from Perfectly Precocious has a DT call running.
Tessa makes the most beautiful embellishments.
Visit her blog for more details.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend xxx

Mini Tag Banner

My first ever Cocoa Daisy blog post.
I made this little tag banner recently. (click the photos to get a good look)
The tags came as part of a kit addon with my CD June Kit.
7 Gypsies ATC tags.

As soon as I saw them, I knew instantly that I was going to make them into a little project. It was really easy, one of those projects that can be done in an evening. If you don't have these particular tags, you can still make a banner using premade or home made tags. Just thread ribbon through the top, decorate and hang to look pretty.

Something I did do, I added tiny pieces of 3d foam tape to the back holding each tag in place. The little journal strips were printed on my pc.

Tonight is reveal night at Cocoa Daisy.
Our new September kit is revealed : )
Visit the Cocoa Daisy blog for some sneaks. It's looking good.

Sketchy Thursdays & DT Call

And here is the next Sketchy Thursdays Sketch.
Do you like it?

My LO to go with it this week is all about a little boy.

We had no idea who the boy was, but Louis was really worried about him.
These are all bits from the latest Studio Calico Kit.

If you love Sketchy Thursdays as much as I do (which I do think is actually impossible, as I am their biggest fan of course) Have you seen that there's a DT call? If you find yourself loving the sketches, go for it. You've got nothing to loose. It's such a fun and caring team to be part of. I've really loved it.
The deadline to submit is 9th September, so you have plenty of time.
Visit here to find out more details.

Love 'n' x's

My Sensitive Soul

I hope you had a good weekend.
Did you get much scrapping done?

I still have one more LO to share from This weekends crop @ The Studio.
This has been inspired by one of our sketch challenges which you can see here. It's a sketch by Anna Bowkis.

An 'Ugly' challenge for you

I created this for an 'Ugly' challenge. But I actually rather like it even if I didn't like these papers to start off with.

This weeks challenge at The Studio goes like this:

Step 1: First of all, go and pick the 2 ugliest, most mismatched papers in your collection, that you honestly can't ever see yourself using. Take a photo of them.
Step 2: Yes, you saw this coming, didn't you?! Make a page using those papers. You can add any other embellishments you like, but those 2 papers must play a prominent role in your design! Take a photo of it.
Step 3: Upload your layout AND your horrendous papers 'before' photo.

The papers must be obviously ugly to begin with - no choosing something you secretly like! Good luck!"

I went with these Crate papers. Although I do love Crate, these weren't from my favourite collection, but they came in a kit ages ago.
It does actually feel good to have used them.

I've used chipboard butterflies to draw around and cut out. Then I cut very thin strips of the paper and stuck onto my page to journal on.

Let me know which papers you end up selecting.
Have fun : )

The Summer Crop Begins

It's underway over at The Studio this morning.
We've kicked off with a fab challenge, a great sketch from Becky Fleck.
Click here to view the sketch and to join in.
Here's my take on the sketch.

I've used old bits and pieces from Cocoa Daisy kits as there wasn't an August kit this month. A great excuse to raid those old ones.

You have until September 4th to join in with this challenge. The winner will receive an Apron Strings kit.

The fun begins tonight at

Are you ready for the Cyber Crop tomorrow at The Studio?

A pre-crop challenge has been launched this evening to get you in the mood.
Pop over and take a look. The Studio.

See you bright and breezy in the morning for the start : )

Me Me Me

I'm making a whole album all about 'ME', That sounds like I'm so full of myself, doesn't it?!
Well, this Big Idea Festival, that's I've been taking part with. They are giving daily prompts and they all start with I....
I thought it would make a really nice album, rather than just filing the LO's all away in various albums.
So today, I have yesterday's prompt. I lack....

For me it's confidence.
I like being at home around my family and my comforts. It's become abit of a security blanket really over the years. I used to go out loads and drive anywhere without giving it a thought, but now with working from home, my life has become family (home) and work.

And the next (i guess the two go together really) I live....
for these three.

They really are my life. I'd do anything for these three. They make me so happy : )

Todays' is 'I Listen....'
I haven't decided what I'm doing yet.

Before I go, a couple of things.

The Studio is getting ready for the Cyber Crop tomorrow. Are you planning to join in?
Let me know if you are. Have you seen Amanda's class. I can't wait to join in with this. My kit is ready. Take a look here.

Do you fancy being our Guest Designer at The Studio during October?
If so, you need to read this
for more details on what to do.

And if you fancy a sketch challenge, Twisted Sketches has the new sketch up now.
Love this one, I need to find a couple of hours to play along with Team A.

A day at home for us today. It seems like ages since we've had nothing planned and it feels good.

See you later xxx

Happy Birthday Ade

Today is my hubby's birthday. Sadly he's at work all day and evening : (
and I'm missing him lots.

Here's his card

Which funnily enough was based on todays new sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
Bit of a coincidence, don't you think? : )
We are sponsored this week by Digi Stamps.

He Says/She Says

Good Morning from me.
I spy a blue sky today : )

Today is my day over at The studio to make an extra little something.
We take it in turns each Wednesday to do a class or share a little project.

I'm sharing my He Says/She Says book.

I have 'He Says' on one side and 'She Says' on the other.
Each time one of the children say something amusing I write it with a date into the book. Not only is this a great record to keep, but whenever you get a beautiful photo but with no story to go with it, this books comes in really handy.

For full details on this little project, I have a printable tutorial here.

Are you ready for the Summer Crop at The Studio this Saturday?
I'm really looking forward to it. We have some fab prizes and sponsors.
One class I am definitely joining in with is Amanda's Class. She's put some kits together for her class. Take a look here.

Here are some sneak peeks from my class that I'm doing.

Canvas Bunting

Hi,

I'm sharing our canvas bunting project with you today.
Hollie (my 11yr old daughter) and I made these last week.

When we were in Florida earlier this year, we picked up this canvas bunting and have been saving it for some special 'us' time. So when Louis was at a friend's last week we had a proper crafty session.

This is mine (hanging on the door to my studio)

Using inks, spray mists, primas, Pink Paislee alphs and Tim Holtz film strip.

And Hollie's (hanging in her room)

Using inks, mists, paint dabbers, primas and AC thickers. All her own work bless her.
With her homemade Twilight canvases in the background : )
And in case you haven't heard me say this before.... I love having crafty kids : )

That's it from me today.
Neck high in work. Why can't brides be better organised and stick to deadlines??!!
gggggrrrrrr

Lots of love xxx

First Date

Hello : )

I'm having a mega long work day today and I'm feeling tired.
I started at 4.45am and it's now 7.15pm. I feel really drained and can't wait for Ade to come home so we can have the yummy spanish chicken stew I have in the slow cooker.

I have just photographed this though that I finished up earlier today for one of Shimelle's challenges.
Using Squares.

Louis adores Club Penguin.com and played some games with a girl penguin. Their penguins then went for pizza and they sent each other hearts across the table.
So sweet.

I think I'm going to have a glass of wine and some olives whilst I wait for Ade to come home.

Thanks for stopping by xxx

Ickle Photos

It wasn't until I was uploading these LO's just now that I realised they both had ickle photos. I love being able to crop and print all my photos myself.

So Sunday morning.
Firstly I have the brand new challenge from The Studio.
It goes like this:

Use at least 5 different patterned papers on you page. You can choose your own theme, but get as many different papers on there as you can!

I've used the Delovely collection of papers from Cosmo Cricket to scrap Hollie's 11th birthday party this summer. These bright papers were perfect for a girly celebration.

Don't forget by joining in on this months challenges you stand a chance of winning some Cosmo goodies.

And don't forget our summer crop on August 21st.
Have you seen the details. Visit the site here. The Studio Summer Crop.
Sneak peaks of the classes have been added and also some vital supply lists if you want to join in.

Talking of joining in, I did another LO for Shimelle's crop yesterday.
All about journaling around the edge of a page or a border.
You can see the challenge here.

This was our day in Windsor last month. We love coming here. It's nice and local and so much to see and do.

We have decided not to let this awful weather get the better of us today. We are going to the coast rain or shine.

Have a lovely Sunday xxx

Picnic Weather...no way!!!

Sorry, did someone say it's August?????
Could have fooled me. Right this very moment the word 'rain' doesn't even describe what's going on out there. It's so so heavy.

Good job there's lots going on in the scrap world right now.
Shimelle is having a crop weekend. A new challenge every couple of hours.
Take a look here.

I started off last night with a black and white photo challenge.
Use BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOS.
So during Big Brother last night, I made this on the sofa.
(click on the pic)

Hollie took these photo during our recent Windsor picnic. I love natural photos. Sometimes it;s great leaving the kids loose with a camera. You never know what you'll find.

These are scraps from the Cocoa Daisy July kit. This kit just keeps going and going.

The Big Idea Festival kicked off just a couple of days ago over at Big Picture Scrapbooking. It's free and seems like it's going to be fun joining in.

The first LO (yesterday) was to start with 'I Learn....'
After thinking through for a while I thought about how I'm bring up my children and why I do the things I do and why I have the rules I have.
It's all based on how I was brought up. A mixture of what I liked what my parents did and quite a lot of things I disagree with.
(click on the pic)

I really enjoyed making this quick LO.
It's really simple to do.
Grab an old piece of 12x12 card stock that you aren't very fond of. Cut 4 equal strips and lay on your 12x12 card stock that you are fond of : ) Like this.
and then spray some glimmer mist on in one colour.

Next take some form of mask.
I've used 3 little die cut flowers and 2 hand cut clouds.
Lay them on your base and using a different colour mist this time spray over again.

Then remove your masks and you are left with your base.

I think I'm going to print off some piccies now for the next Shimelle challenge I'm planning on doing. Scrapping with squares.

Let me know if you are joining in with either of these xxx
