My Story

The next Cocoa Daisy Kit goes on sale tomorrow. (1st July) It's called 'Not to Self'.

This is my fave LO that I created using it.
A LO about my Dad living so far away.
I just love blues and greens.
I used the Crafters Workshop Stencil from last months kit to make those fabby rays.

When I was cutting the circle out for the LO above left I wanted to mist it green. So I laid it on the cardstock below to mist it and then lifted to be left with the cool looking misted cardstock. So I used that as the base for my next LO.
I also used a crafters workshop mask to make the wording. It's available as an addon with this months kit. You can buy them here. I know I will use this one lots. I've gone over 4 of the words with a black pen to make my title.

I love those teeny wire clips that come in the main kit. I grabbed a piece of twine to make a little line.

I grabbed a couple of addons this months.
'Take Note'

The journal cards, mini alphas and badges had me straight away

And 'Pencil Tin' too.

I love the Amy Tangerine Alphas in this addon and I plan to make a mini book using this one this week.

So, can you see why I love this kit so much??
Told you it was a good one : )
If you fancy any of those addons be sure to get in quick when they go on sale tomorrow.
They've been selling out super fast these past couple of months.
Did you know that Cocoa Daisy has a Facebook page too?
Take a look here

I do need to apologise before I go on. I promised to post the rest of those Travel Journal page and I'm afraid to say that I still haven't edited the pics, I'm sorry.
I'll pop it top of my 'to-do' list for this week.

I taught in Basingstoke this morning. It was my first time there. We were fully booked and have needed to plan a second class making up the same mini book. A great start : )
It's such a sweet store.  I can't wait for the next class.
We are starting up a Scrapbooking Club Saturday 15th September. It will be a monthly class at 10am, each week we will have a different theme. You can then stay on a crop til the end of the day for just an extra £5. I'll give you more info nearer the day.

I'm now planning my next class which is local to me again in Fleet. It's Saturday 14th July.
An all day crop with me teaching at 10.30am.
Let me know if you want more details. ( lisa@funkyfairies.co.uk)
It's a lovely group of ladies with new ones showing up each time.
I made a curried veggie soup when I got in from teaching for later and I have a loaf of multi grain bread in the oven. Ade want hotdogs!! He doesn't know how lucky he is having a wife that loves to cook and bake. He can have the hotdogs. More soup and bread for me!!

I'm going to crack on with this LO for the Fleet class.
I still have more Cocoa Daisy stuff to share so will come back with that soon.

Happy Weekend xxx

Note to Self

Hello,

After an amazing class on Sunday in Swindon, I've been wanting to come back here to share more photos of my Travel Journal. I've now taken the photos, just need to edit them and add. I'm running out of hours again though. Story of my life these days.
I will add them soon though, promise.
I did tell the girls that I would.
Thank you to everyone who came and made the class so much fun.
It was an absolute blast : )

I just want to share some sneaks of the July Cocoa Daisy kit before I run out on the school run.

The reveal of the kit is tomorrow 9pm EST at Cocoa Daisy.
I've loved creating with this. I've made 3 LO's and a little project and still plan to make another LO, some cards and a mini book.

Off to school now.
Promise to share more Travel Journal pics later xxx

Travel Journals

Do you like to travel?
Have you traveled much in the past?
Do you also have a list of places you still want to visit one day?

I'm teaching in Swindon this coming Sunday.
We are making Travel Journals.

I love to travel.
I never traveled much as a child, but then at 13yrs my parents decided to move our family to Germany. We weren't with the Forces (that's the first question I always get asked) but my Dad's half German so we have lots of family out there. Not speaking German, my little sister and myself got put into German schools and that was us for the next few years.
My parents split up, Mum moved back to the UK, Dad to USA. I got a job with Lufthansa and my travels began.
I love it.
I miss the frequent breaks now that I have a family, but love planning our trips to Florida.
I've had some amazing trips over the years, just popping over to Germany and also Copenhagen for lunches with friends, a long weekend in Bangkok, Lots of trips to the US and various other places and back then we were always upgraded to business class : )

I have many stories to tell, but haven't really documented them anywhere as it was mostly from my pre scrapbooking days. I now want to get them all down in this journal.
A place for stories, memories and bits and pieces that have been kept over the years.

There are pockets and envelopes inside for keepsakes, fold out pages for longer journaling and extra photos. The book is made in a way that extra pages can always be added as my traveling continues.

The class is fully booked, but I do believe we could possibly squeeze one more person in.
The details of the class are here.
If we get enough requests, I am happy to repeat the class again another time : )
It's very arty and layered, a really beautiful mini book to keep and be treasured forever.

All About Me

Hi,

I have a new mini book class to share with you today.
It's 'All About Me'.
Pretty self explanitory.

It's a paperbag class and it's using the Simple Stories 'Fabulous' papers and stickers.
It's aimed at your likes and dislikes and your life as it is right now.
This is great project for you and your family to look back on. And lets be honest, how often do we properly scrap about ourselves??

There are lots of places to write and there are good journaling prompts, so you don't have to sit and wonder what to write. The hard part is done for you. You just need to fill in the fun stuff.

And if you really don't want to make one about yourself....you could always make it about a close friend or family member and give as a special gift.

For more details on how to book this class which is taking place on Saturday 30th June in Basingstoke, UK.

Thanks for stopping by today xxx

Hello Sunshine

We had our International Reveal over at Cocoa Daisy last night showcasing our 'Hello Sunshine' kit galleries.
I always love the reveal of the galleries and seeing what the others have come up with using the same supplies.
Whilst I was having pc problems and couldn't sort any new photos I found this one in my 'to scrap' folder. It was taken a couple of summers ago.

I've layered it up using the 'Simple Stories' papers and various elements from the main kit those American Crafts chipboard frames are so cute. And I've added so little stitches here and there.

We have another 'Just for Fun' challenge up again this month.
Using our new kits along with the leftovers from last months kit.
Here's my sample.

Using the aqua's, Amy Tangerine's papers and the felt trims from last months along with that fab MME Woodgrain paper, Pink Paislee stickers and the Lilybee 'bag of bits from the 'Wide Brim' addon all from this months' Hello Sunshine' kit.
If you would like to play along with your own Cocoa Daisy Kits join us here.
Details and rules can be found there too.

I love that wedding photo of ours : )

You can see all the designer galleries here.

Have a lovely Friday xxx

My Sister

Hiya!!!

How's your day going?
Guess what??!! It's dry in the UK again. Yay!!
I hope it stays like this for the weekend. We really need to do some work in the garden.
Hollie doesn't want a birthday party this year, she wants us to have another themed BBQ (like our American BBQ party) last summer inviting our friends.
So Ade and I are going to host a Mexican Fiesta!!
I'm so excited....thinking bright fun colours, tacos, chili, nachos, meats on the BBQ and yummy salads and desserts. The planning is the best part I think.
If you have any tips or ideas, please share : )
How about, my fave idea that's left, I'll pop a little stamp in the post to you???

I thought I'd share this LO I made a little while ago.
She's my sister but also my very best friend. I just love her to bits!!

I used Prima Papers with a Crafters Workshop template and some moulding paste for texture.
The hearts are a large piece of chipboard where I have pushed out the heart dies to using as a misting template. I've had this for years now : )  Maya Mists are my faves right now. I have an ever growing collection.
The the LO was finished with Primas,October Afternoon bits and I've handstitched my journaling lines.

Louis watches his 'sex ed' tape at school today.
Should make interesting conversation tonight : )
Second child though, not sure if Hollie has left much for him to learn.
Not one to keep stuff to herself is Hollie.
I like that she is so open and shares so much stuff with me, but she can be a shocker at times : )

Enjoy your day and don't forget those Mexican party ideas please.

Sketch Challenge

Hiya,

Thank you for the sweet messages after my last blog post.
I'm running really late right now for a friend's birthday and I still need to frost the cupcakes.
I just wanted to share the sketch challenge that I just posted over at Cocoa Daisy.
I don't do fancy technical sketches....you know me and technology!!!!
So I did this instead : )
and then made this using this months Cocoa Daisy kit.

An older photo of Louis and my nephew Charlie.
You know the little circles that you get in the centre of certain alpha stickers??
Well I used them on this LO. There is a Jillibean set in the Cocoa Daisy kit.
Cool eh?!!

If you want to play along with us, visit the CD blog here.
You have until Tues 26th June and the winner gets a $10 voucher to spend in the CD boutique.

Better go frost those cupcakes.

I'm Back!!!

Yes!!
I can upload photos again.
How long has it been??? Goodness knows, I've lost count of the weeks.
But I finally have photo editing software again. Ade's uploaded some new stuff and it's taken me a while to get to grips with it but I think I have it sorted this morning.

So here is a LO I made for Cocoa Daisy last month and didn't get to share.

I used the maya mists that matched the kit and dripped from the top along with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam. This dries slightly raised compared to the mist. I really like the feel to this with the shimmer too.

A bit of fussy cutting. But those leaves are so pretty,

I printed off some stars by googling star template to print and just printed my journaling and cut into strips.
I'm pleased with how this came out.

Now I have so many many projects to upload and edit.
Not quite sure where to start really, so many to do.
But off swimming later with the kids : )
And soft tacos for dinner.

Enjoy your Sunday xxx

Having Fun???

Happy Jubilee weekend!!
Are you having fun??
It's a little washed out isn't it?! I'm so glad we didn't go camping now.

We've been to a couple of bbq's though, watched a couple of movies and today we went swimming and had a Starbucks treat after.
Just spending time together as a family is good.
And also very needed.

I wanted to share this with you today.
Do you know of Alissa?
She's one of my Cocoa Daisy Teamies.
I call her the Queen of Minis.
This girl does mini books like no other.
Take a look at her latest on the Cocoa Daisy blog here.
She has some really good ideas and they are using up scraps too.
Even better.

I hope you enjoy the rest of this long weekend : )

Hello Sunshine

This is the name of the newest Cocoa Daisy kit that has gone on sale today.
It's full of colour and a really good kit to get your teeth into.

It comes with a Crafters Workshop Stencil, an original Cocoa Daisy Stamp, Jillibean Chipboard Alphas and it's jam packed full of beautiful papers and lots of bits and pieces that all us scrappers just love.

And don't forget the addons.
Freckles.

I got Wide Brim which is FAB!!!! Can't wait to show you at the International Reveal what I made using that.

The Paper Addons which I also get every month.

And the reverse of the papers which I ofter prefer.

And don't forget the Daisy Boutique now full of goodie.
Have you seen?
Take a look here.

I've actually got 2 LO's and an art journal page on the go with this kit. It's just so summery and fun.

I'm hoping it's going to stay dry today. It's looking rather overcast this morning.
Louis' school are having a Jubilee Day. They are wearing red, white and blue and we are throwing a Jubilee party for them this afternoon in the playground. A street style party. I'm going in at 12.30 to help. I always get really nervous about going in to help.

Have you much planned for this weekend?
It's a long weekend in the UK celebrating the Queen's Jubilee.
I completely missed that Tuesday was part of the weekend and planned for the kids to visit their Dad on Tuesday and Wednesday. The kids are on a weeks break from school next week. So I'm now working all day Tues and Wed.
But we are planning a gardening day tomorrow, visits to Garden Centres along with cake and coffee treats : ) A friend is hosting an Indinesian BBQ Saturday from 5pm, Sunday is chill day maybe with a swimming trip and also a BBQ at the inlaws .Monday we are going into Winndsor. I love going there. Feels like a good place to visit this weekend. I love the walks, the river, the castle and the little boutiquey shops. We plan to take the kids out for lunch whilst we are there too.
Should be a good weekend : )

Have a lovely one yourself.
Lots of love xxx
