Love this Shop **HOT TOPIC**

It's been a whirlwind of a few days.
I can't believe it's been almost a week since I blogged.
The fact is the last day I blogged was the day the kids finished school for Easter break, so that says it all really.

Today I have a layout to share that I made using some more of the 'Scrapmatts' chipboard.
I'm guest designer for them these next couple of months.

Remember my last blog post when I said about that little dish I keep with photos in of stories to tell? Well, these photos were also in there.
This was one of our favourite stores in Orlando. Hollie found it online so we went in on Hollie's recommendation and spent an age in this little store and had so much fun. We all came out with purchases.

I used the Scrapmatts chipboard in a few ways on this page. I used the negatives of the chipboard with PanPastels, so using it like a mask.

I used these larger chipboard chevrons. I stained them white first with Tim Holtz Distress Stain and them used a green Prima Chalk Ink over the top. It shows the true colour of the ink much better if you paint/ink them white first.
I also used the little chipboard words. I love adding these to my layouts. They are like little subtitles.

The arrowed words are one of my favourite items that I received from Scrapmatts, I started by inking them yellow, but they didn't stand out as much as I would have liked, so I went to cover them in the same white Distress Stain to start all over and started dabbing and really liked the effect, so I left it just like this. I think they look pretty cool.

If you love the chipboard as much as I do. Here is the Scrapmatts blog which I think you will love.

Thanks for stopping by.
It's another day of juggling kids and work for me today. xxx

Colour

'COLOUR'
That's the word of the month over at OLW.

What does colour mean to you?
How does it make you feel?

Take a look at the new challenge here.
There's some really inspiring pieces. I'm loving creating alongside these wonderful artists.

Here's what I made.

Colour plays a huge part in my life.
It really effects my moods.
I hate dark.
And even have this feeling I get that I describe as being dark.
Some people give me that dark feeling, certain shops, houses.....
I love happy colours and light.
I will even book a hotel room depending on how light and colourful the rooms are.

I took this photo on our last day at Magic Kingdom last year.
Anyone who has gone will know that feeling : (
We'd walked up Main Street for the last time and were looking back to the Disney Castle. These balloons just happened to be in view with the American Flag too.
With that blue sky it just made the perfect photo.

These are my happy colours. Pink and blues. I just love them.

I used some inktense pencils to start and added a little misting.
The long stickers are actually from Love Elsie from years back. I still have loads and love to see them in my sticker basket. They are so bright and fun and shows how long I've been scrapping for : )

Thank you for stopping by today.
Don't forget to scrap your Colour pages and projects too and link up here.

Have a bright and colourful day xxx

A Little Road Trip

Whilst we were in Orlando last year we took a little road trip.
We aren't really beach people.
We like the beach, but don't enjoy the whole laying in the sun kind of thing.
So doing a day trip like this is perfect for us.
We try to go somewhere different for a day trip each time we go to Florida.
After lots of research last year I found Anna Maria Island.
A tiny island on the Gulf Coast near Sarasota. Just 7miles in length and at parts you can see both sides of the ocean.

There are a couple of bridges to reach the island, so there's no need to take a boat.

The island is left very natural and has a very laid back and rustic feel. Very different to other parts of Florida that we've been to.

To the north of the island is the old pier.

The day that we visited Hurricane Sandy was passing by parts of Florida, so this part was thankfully dry, but a little overcast and very windy today.

So this was as far up the pier as we got. We had visions of Louis being blown in : )

We drove all of 2mins to the other side of the island for a beachside lunch. This place comes highly recommended.

And you really are on the beach.

The seafood was amazing and so much of it.
This was just a starter.

Something else about the island. It's free parking everywhere and there is a free trolley that drives up and down the island free of charge from the early morning until about 10pm.

The beach was beautiful. The sandy silky soft and the sea lovely clear and warm.
Certain parts of the year you will see dolphins & Manatees swimming from the shore.

The properties on the island are so colourful and sweet.

It was such a lovely day and we'd really recommend a visit if ever you are visiting Orlando.
I have a proper trip report written up here if you would like more details.

I made a LO about this day recently using Simple Stories 'Urban Traveler' papers.
These papers are perfect for recording any trip.
Details of this page are on the Papermaze blog here.

Here's the LO. There are close ups and details on the Papermaze Blog.

After a cold and wet start to the week here, I could really do with a little Florida beach trip.
Another year to go....

Thanks for stopping by.
See you soon xx

Princess Dolphin & a Sketch

I'm going to start with a bright and fun one this week.
It's Princess Dolphin.
I don't think that's her real name, but that's what Hollie and I called her.
Isn't she pretty?

We were at SeaWorld and Hollie was in a very fun and happy to be photographed mood. So you have to just make the most of it whilst it lasts : )

This LO is for the Sketchbook365 challenge. It's the new August Sketch. See here.
Love this sketch!!
You can click that link to see what the other DT'ers did and the prize that's up for grabs too.

I hope you are enjoying this lovely weather.
Smelling the nivea sun lotion and after sun each day just reminds us of Florida : (
446 days to go....

Weekend Scrapping

I think it's my favourite time to scrap, the weekend.
I love having that time when everyone at home is doing something and I can relax and just enjoy being in my little scrappy element. Radio on and a hot fluffy latte on my desk. That's my favourite way to scrap.

I have just launched a new 'Pleased to Meet You' challenge over at Cocoa Daisy.
This month our focus is on Denise.
I was so fortunate to meet Denise in LA at CHA this year. I love her so much. She has all the qualities that to me makes a wonderful person and friend. She's honest, interesting and so so much fun. We giggled together so much but also had some really good conversations too about everything. Personal and worldly.
Denise has one of the most fun styles I know in the scrapbook world. She's so fearless this girl.
Take a look at her blog.

To kick off this months challenge I have scrapped with Denise's style in mind and yesterday I made this.

I found this photo recently whilst looking on Hollie's ipod with her at the photos she'd taken when we were in Orlando. She has some really cute ones. This one just melts my heart. It was the first day of our trip and we had arranged to meet my sis and her family at 10am in SeaWorld. It was nearing the end of their trip. We were so excited to see them there. Look at Millie's little face. I adore my little niece so much. She was so excited.

We'd love you to come and play along at Cocoa Daisy this month and see your own takes on Denise's style. Come and see here. We will be playing until May 13th.

Have fun : )
