Elevator Selfies

This was a new family trip tradition that started just after we'd checked in at Gatwick airport.

''Elevator Selfies''

We ended up with quite a few of these taken over the 3 week trip.

I used just 1 piece of patterned paper on this LO from Jillibean Soup - Sightseeing Stew. Along with a Jillibean Soup die cut paper which I use for misting only and I just love these new Jillibean Soup alpha stamps.
They are the best!!!

I am really getting through these Florida photos now : )

Have a wonderful Sunday.
I may just scrap a little more.

2015 To-Do's

This year we are going with a 'to-do' list.
A pretty big one at that.
This year is all about achieving.

Here is my LO using my January Cocoa Daisy Kit.

We had a pretty big Jillibean mask included in this kit. I've used it a couple of times now. So now I've cut it up abit, time to do something different with it and use the actual mask on my LO.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a fun Friday xxx

Choosing Photos, Sibling Love & a Sketch

How do you go about choosing what photos to scrap?

Do you scrap month by month and keep up to date?
Do you let the papers choose for you? Deciding what papers go with what photos?

I keep a few little photos in a small dish on my scrappy desk. These are like 'go-to' photos.
I'm finding that right now I'm drawn by the materials that I am using.
It might be that I fancy playing with water colours to make a pretty background or that I have a new mask to use or that some gorgeous papers have just arrived that I want to use straight away.
The little dish of mini photos is then the 'go-to' place for me.

That was the case with this LO here.
I had my lovely new Cocoa Daisy Kit and the monthly sketch challenge that I am hosting at CD this month. I wanted to use the Jillibean Placemats for this layout as they were perfect for this sketch and I found this cute photo that came with an untold story from back in July.
*happy dance*

Here is the sketch.

See what I mean about those Jillibean Placemats?
These two kids of mine really do make me smile.

And here is the story.

I'm so pleased that I'm so good with filing my photos. Times like this it really helps. I file everything by year, then month and then day. It's so easy to go back then and find photos along with the dates.

The wooden veneers that come with this months kit are plain with a little colour added here and there. So I flipped them over and used a Prima Chalk In - Ladybug as I needed some red accents on this page. There was no red within this kit, but as it was the schools colour, I needed to bring it in to the LO. By adding the wooden veneers, the stitching and some Maya Mist - Cherry Metallic, it really did the trick and pulled it all together.

There are some really cute stamps in the Main Kit this month.
Spot the masking?
I didn't want to go too heavy on the red masking, so I used the Prima Chalk Ink again over the mask rather than a mist. It's a little more subtle and it's easier to control where exactly you are adding your colour.

The Cocoa Daisy Sketch Challenge is running until April 15th. We'd love you to play along.

Hello There Sunshine

Hi,
How's the beginning of the week going?
I feel like it should be Thursday already : )

I launched the new 'Scrap Her Style' challenge at Cocoa Daisy this week.  This month we are scraplifting the adorable Alissa known for mini books, project life and cute everyday LO's.
So here's my take to kick start this months challenge.

I used some older bits from my Cocoa Daisy kits. I love having bits of string like this in my kits.
The stickers are from Echo Park and come on a big 12x12 sheet with mini alphas.

I made a little hidden mini book and slipped behind the photo. The bits and pieces in the Cocoa Daisy kits come in little glassine envelopes. I always keep these as they are so handy. I stuck one to the back of the photo and used this as my pocket for the mini book to keep it in one place.

And there's the mini book.

We'd love you to join in with us and play along with this challenge. For more details please check out the Cocoa Daisy blog here.

Have a lovely day xxx

The Best Bits Framed

Good Morning.
How's Spring going for you so far?

I've been wanting to share my latest project here, but I've needed to change email servers (a very long story) so I've changed to gmail but as it's a business account I require it clashed with my personal account that I use for scrapbooking, but as you can see we have sorted it now : )

So, this project.

It's a rather large project. 16x11 inches to be more precise.
It started off with the Jillibean Soup Place mats that are in the Cocoa Daisy main kit 'forecast' this month.
You can see it here.
So I thought it would be fun as it's not your usual 12x12 paper to use it as this months 'Teaming Up With ' blog project at Cocoa Daisy. Just to see what the other designers would come up with and share some ideas with everyone who is now receiving their kits.

I loved making this. I started with a large piece of card and misted the background.
I used Maya Mists Lime MetallicTurquoise Metallic, a little Cornflower Blue, Blue Agave which I understand has been sadly discontinued and some Lemon Metallic too in the top right hand corner.
As most of them are metallic mists it does leave a fab kind of shimmer.

I used the Jillibean Diecuts to embellish the little polaroid style frames which came the addon 'Wellies' along with these cute Jillibean Butterfly Pins.

And I printed off some of our favourite Orlando 2012 photos. It's now hanging in the hallway and makes me smile when I walk past.

We are on countdown again. It's now 546 days til we go again : )
Our happy place.

Please go and check out the Cocoa Daisy blog post here and see what the other girls have created with their placemats. It's so fun to see how many different ways it can be used.  It's a really fun post.
Plus if you are feeling the love for this kit, Christine up'd the numbers this month and we still have some left. See here.

The kids are still on Easter holidays this week. We've been keeping busy.
A trip to London on Sunday. We did the London Dungeons, London Eye and the Tate Modern Art Museum. I was so pleased that the kids loved the art museum. I expected Louis to complain that it was boring but he took it all in. We were chatting about it whilst in the car on Monday and they were telling me their favourite pieces and what they thought different artists were trying to say through their work etc.. They took it all in.
We are planning to go back again soon. There is a Lichtenstein exhibition on right now. You have to pay to visit so we thought we'd test the waters first to see how the kids were and I think they would love the exhibition. It's pop art and they both sketch, Louis is really into writing comics, so I think they would both enjoy it.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you are having good week.

Papermaze Christmas Blog Hop

Hi and Welcome to the Papermaze Blog Hop.

I'm not a Christmas Scrapper.
I get chance to scrap most days, but I just don't enjoy Christmas Scrapping.
I've given up with all the Christmas Journals. I just can't keep them up and then feel let down after when I have another half made/completed journal. So last year I found a way of having a teeny Christmas Mini and not feeling the pressure to keep it up throughout Christmas. So this year I've made the same kind of Teeny Mini and feel so much happier.
Here it is:

I've used the Jillibean  Christmas Eve Chowder - Bite Sized Bits. I've cut them all up and used them as my pages.

I've decorated with the matching Jillibean Soup Die Cuts.

Once all the cards were stuck back to back and inked, I holed them in the correct order and added a book ring.
I used some ribbon from my odds and ends jar and a little glitter here and there and the mini book is now done.
I will now add a little journaling throughout the month and a few photos.
Easy Peasey!!

If you are playing along with the Papermaze bloghop here is the list for you to hop through.

You will need to leave a comment on each blog as you hop through.
There will be one lucky winner picked at random at the end and they will receive this lovely kit of Christmas Goodies.

Seeing as it's almost Christmas and it's been a while since I've offered some blog candy, please become a follower here if you aren't already and I will also pick at random one person and will post out some goodies too : )
I'm thinking stamps, pretty things and a little chocolate too. It is Christmas after all.

Thanks so much for playing along with us.
Please visit Lou next:
