The Sweet Type

I was really pleased with these piccies taken summer 2007. We went strawberry picking and Louis just lurves strawberries. We'd all gone off and spread out trying to find the best ones and off in the near distance I could see Louis crouched down eating away. I managed to zoom in and get some cute shots.
This LO has been inspired by a new challenge blog: http://useyourtype.blogspot.com/
The idea behind this chellenge was to fill a shape with words. So obviously it had to be a strawberry for me : )

Lots of paint....lots of doodling and colouring and a touch of Love Elsie too xx

So Cold

I can't believe how cold it's suddenly got. We had quite abit of snow yesterday. The kids were really excited to wake up and see it. We are supposed to be going to Chessington this afternoon to stay for Fright Night and all I can think about is.....it'll be so cold!!

Here is a LO I made a couple of days ago. I wanted to cut into my Basic Grey Eva papers that I've had for a couple of weeks. I've struggled to find a photo to go with them. I think I've just got stuck in the Autumny feel lately. I found this old photo of little Hollie about to go on her school trip on a barge when she was in yr1.

I've added some paint to soften the edges and also doodled over the alphabet stickers to make them stand out more. I really like these alphabet stickers as they are different to the usual Basic Grey style. I've journaled around the edge of my photo once the paint dried.
I made my own embellishment using 2 different patterened papers from the Eva collection. I roughly cut 2 circles and stuck the larger of the 2 at the bottom, they both got scrunched up and I added a button for the centre. The swirl is made up from a couple of stickers from the sticker sheet.
All theses Basic Grey Goodies are from the collection on Sassy Crafts:
Off to try and get warm now xx

Yesterday Morning (pencilines & colorcombo)

This was our lazy morning yesterday. I love it when the kids are off school and there's no rushing around. They just love staying in pjs, whilst watching tv and eating toast with warm milk.

I've used pencilines sketch this week (http://www.pencillines.com/) and with added inspiration from the ColorCombo team (http://www.colorcombosgalore.blogspot.com/) This weeks colours are Orange, Lime, black and white.
I've used some of this months scrapapgogo kit with some lime PP scraps from last months Scarletlime kit. Each circle is raised chipboard for added depth. xx

I Spy....

This made me laugh on Friday.
We were coming out of swimming lessons and walking through the carpark. We walked past an Audi and this is what Louis said:

Just kept making me chuckle, so decided to scrap it at the weekend.
This is from this months Scrapagogo with some chipboard alphas that I don't like anymore....so I 'steph'd' them ..... and now they go perfectly : )
xx

2Sketches4u

It's been a while since I've taken part in the 2sketches4u challenge(http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/) I've just been so into my scrappin lately. But I needed a card for a friend's birthday this week, so what better place to go for inspiration than this blog. The girls are always bursting with inspiration and ideas.
xx

Karaoke and Pencilines

I finally got around to last weeks pencilines sketch ( http://www.pencillines.com/) on Sunday.
Here it is:
I've used this months Scrapagogo kit and did a 'steph' on some chipboard letters (painted them orange).
These photo were actually taken at my Grandad's wake in September. The kids had a great time in the playroom on the ps2. It's the first time mine had seen a karaoke. They really enjoyed it : ) (guess what's on the christmas list????)

My Husband Loves.....

....buying me flowers : )
That's what this LO is to remind me of .

I've used my new Cocoa Dasiy kit and made the big flower from a piece of double sided card stock.
I made 3 LO's yesterday morning, but will just show this one for now as we are about to go and see High School Musical 3 with friends and then back to ours for a little Halloween tea party.....see you later xxxx

Autumn Challenge

It's been quite some time since I've taken part in a DCM dare, but seeing as I love Autumn so much, I thought I'd join in this week.

This little 6x6 card reminds me of a mini canvas. Each little square is raised. Two are Elsie fabric papers, 1 is hand and finger painted by me and the other is a leaf from my garden with stiching.
I'm quite pleased with it. Excuse the word 'Fall' but I'm going to send it to my Dad and stepmom in USA as they are both having a hard time right now with elderly parents.
Think I may make a card like this for me now : )
xx

My 'One Little Word' - Imagine

With the arrival of the new Cocoa Daisy kit and a new challenge on 'One little word' I finally managed to scrap this cheesy photo of Hollie and Louis.
The word this week is.....'Imagine': http://onelittleword.typepad.com/
For me, I just couldn't imagine these two not having each other. I'm so glad Hollie isn't an only child. They love each other so much. They are so lucky to have eachother.
Something I learnt from Steph (nerdbird) this week. If you are not happy with the materials you have alter them. Now I'm used to altering chipboard and stuff that's meant to be altered, but she changes everything. It was really interesting watching her scrap on Thursday and just getting the pens etc to just about anything : ) So, thanks to you steph......my black foam thickers have been painted pink : )

and the soppy journaling : )
IMAGINE......
So, this is the third LO I've now made with my Cocoa Dasiy kit since it arrived on Wednesday.....not bad eh??!! xxx

Nicky and myself are lauching a joint challenge tonight. Simple challenge, just use some felt.

Here's my LO and Nicky has made the most gorgeous card.
I made this LO yesterday using my new Cocoa Dasiy kit. (felt ric rac and heart) I'm really pleased with this months kit and although it only arrived Wednesday, I've already made 3 LO's and considering the kit is mostly black and white, each LO of mine is so different. (the other is the Autumn leafy LO I made on Wednesday and I'll show the other tomorrow morning).
If you fancing getting out your felt and joining in, come on over to Just Bex. xx

Ambrosia Crazy

I was really excited when my Sassy Crafts order arrived last week.
I finally got to play with them yesterday. I decided to go with a black and white photo. I'm really pleased with the whole black, grey and orange look.
This photo was taken when Ade and I were in the first few weeks of seeing each other. It was the first time we had been out with the children together. We went to Windsor Park for a picnic.

I've really enjoyed using these Ambrosia papers and also the sticker sheet:
They can all be bought here:
and the fabby stamp here:

A Day Full of Scrap(jacked)

Right this is just a quickie as I'm expecting a friend to arrive any minute.
I've had a lovely day today with Steph (nerdbird) a day of scrappin : ) It's been fab !!

Our Perfect Saturday Afternoon

Yay...my Cocoa Dasiy kit arrived this afternoon, around 2pm to be more precise.
I've knocked this LO out this afternoon with inspiration and some goodies from the kit.

I've followed this weeks UKS weekly challenge by using their sketch, using out door piccies. using autumn colours and also using 10 of somthing (my leaves....which by the way are from my front garden not the CD kit)
These photos were taken on Saturday when we went to a part of the common that we haven't ventured to before with Claire and her family. We are so lucky living in walking distance of this beautiful place.

Just to finish off this post.....I've just tried out a pumpkin cake recipe that I found on another Scrappers blog, it's in the oven and about to come out. I'll let you know what it's like : ) xx

Here's one I made earlier......

Hiya, well the sun is shining so all is well. Have a busy one tonight with a meeting at Louis's school, Hollie has cheerleading and Louis is being invested at Beavers......it's all happening. Just not quite sure when they will get fed tonight.

Anyway, here is one of the LO's I made at the crop on Sunday. I've decided I want to stick a few more bits on the other LO I made.
I've used various bits from old Scrapagogo kits. The flowers are butterflies are all cut from a piece of Crate Paper and stamped up. There's a Making Memories felt flower and cherish tag and I love that butterfly acetate overlay.
This photo was taken when Hollie was about 5. I keep loads of older photos in a folder ready to scrap
for when I have no inspiration for the one I plan to scrap. Always good to have a plan B : )

Challenge time on Just Bex again

I have just had such a lovely weekend. I feel compleyely shattered this morning mind.
We had an easy morning on Saturday. I made another LO and we all played Brain Academy on the wii and had brunch together. In the afternoon we met up with my lovely friend Claire and her family for a walk up the common. It was an area we hadn't been to before. We walked for 2 hours....loads of exploring : ) Then we went back to Claire's for hot chocolate and cake.
Had a yummy tea at ours later and all watched X Factor together.

Then yesterday I went to a local crop for the first time. I've met some of these ladies before at the weekend crop, so it wasn't completely new. Lovely company and I managed to make most of my Mum's mini book I'm making for Christmas, 2 cards and 2 LO's.....so not bad.

Anway, Nicky and I are doing the challenge week on Just Bex. Here is my challenge I am launching today:

A recipe challenge: Please include on your LO or card the following :

Some ribbon
Some dots or circles
and 3 of something.

Here is my LO
My niece's precious baby feet.
And here is my card I made yesterday.

If you would like to join in, come and join us here:http://justbex.co.uk/phpBB2/index.php

OMG !!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!! Was my reaction when I got an email from Kim Sonksen last night.

Kim has had a fab idea of creating a design team with a difference. 10 ladies in this design team, but each person representing a different monthly kit.
I have been selected to represent the best (in my opinion) UK kit by far 'Scrapagogo'.
http://www.scrapagogo.co.uk/index.php?p=1&
I adore this kit and feel honoured to be representing them.
I was so shocked when Kim's email came through with the news, but I am so excited to be part of all this.
To find out more, please read here:

http://kimsonksen.typepad.com/wekitunot/

Every month on the 1st, a LO and card will be shown using that months kit.

How exciting : ) : ) xx

Mix those patterns

I'm quite pleased with this end result.
I've taken part in a UKS challenge to mix as many patterned paper together as poss and the theme is Fun. A stupid pic of me but was having fun, so that's all that matters eh?!!

Paperwise...this is a complete sassafras mix...with a touch of stamping, doodling, sewing and journaling.....loads fun : ) xx

You Drive me Crazy

Had to be a crazy LO to go with the crazy title. Let myself go with this one abit.

This is Louis during our Easter Sunday 2007 trip to legoland. It was so warm and sunny : )
Louis and his cousin had a driving lesson. And as the journaling goes:
'Whenever we are out. Just looking at You makes my heart melt'.

I've used all Basic Grey cardstock along with the ambrosia stickers and Basic Grey journal stamp from http://www.sassycrafts.co.uk/ xx
