Scrappy Weekend Ahead

Here's the new Sketchy Thursday Sketch.
I really like these more simple sketches, they work just perfect for me.
I chose some photos that were taken during our family stay just these last couple of weeks.



My sister is one for baking, but her little girl Millie loves to bake (mixing in her words). So We made ginger bread biscuits together.



And I got into the swing of Fancy Pants whilst waitng for my box to arrive by using all Fancy Pants papers on this page.



I'm really looking forward to this weekend at Cocoa Daisy. I love their Cyber Crops so have really enjoyed helping with the prep this time now that I'm part of the team.
Hopefully I'll get a fair few pages made this weekend.

Rain Rain Go Away

Yuk!!!
I could hear the rain coming down when I woke this morning.
Plus the fact that I must have turned off my alarm when it went off at 6.30am.
Not a great start when I woke at 7.20am. Ade has kindly taken the kids to school. I'm so glad I haven't had to go out in that, I just hope it stops by 3pm.

I do love a clean, crisp, white page from time to time. Something to be said for that with a pop of colour. It works every time.



I had a very exciting delivery last night at 5.30pm. A big box with Fancy Pants all over it : )
I have seperated it into collections and have it laid out to admire before I start hacking away. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these collections. I feel so lucky.
I then had to take Louis to footy and pretty papers was all I could think about whilst I was out.

My Little Shoebox Fun

I was lucky enough recently to be sent a very colourful package from Papermaze.
Some gorgeous (doublesided) My Little Shoebox papers from the Harmony collection.
Some Bazzill, American Crafts Brads, Sticker sheet from My Minds Eye, A selection of Blossoms and Trimmings.

The previous day I had met with my lovely friend Anna in London. I felt these papers were perfect to go wih the photo taken of us two in China Town.



The papers are busy, but are perfect to cut up which means you really get your monies worth as they last so long and can be used on many projects.





I also made this little card using the same papers.

I'm feeling alot happier today. I think the early night helped along with an evening of nothing but book and bubble bath.

A Colour Combo

Thank you for the lovely comments about my LO yesterday. They cheered me up.
I've felt sad today as my Dad went back to the States this morning. I feel so silly at the age of 35 with my own family, still struggling with this every year, but after 17 years of this I think it gets harder rather than easier.

I have a card to share today.
Wendy has blogged this Colour Combo on the Papermaze blog this weekend. So I made a card to go with it.

I've used the Crate Restoration papers which you can see here.



And now it's time for homework with the kids. I really can't get excited at that thought today : ) Still Ade has kindly offered to fix dinner tonight. I will really appreciate him reheating the chili I have already made. LOL. Bless him, he does try.

It's all about Friends at The Studio this week.

This week your challenge is to create a page about friendship. Interpret this however you like, but there's a twist - you can't use any patterned paper on your layout!

So I've scrapped about 2 of my fave scrappy friends Nicky and Laura.

More Cocoa Daisy Pages

I've just finished this one above. I love the Autumnal feel.
A page about Hollie and Jordan, cousins and best friends. I took this photo of them at the woods last Friday.



This is the sketch that gave me the inspiration. It's a Cocoa Daisy sketch and it's this months sketch/lift challenge. You can see it here.
And I've used the Doiley stamp that came in this months kit, designed by Kim Watson.

My Secret Photo.



Hollie had the clever idea to paint her toes nails red just as we were going out the door, Doh!! Silly girl. So she had to put socks and shoes on whilst they were wet making a big mess.
Naturally I was unable to photograph this for my story.....so waited until she was asleep that night : )

Gifts and a Medical Bunny

We'll start off with the Medical Bunny.
This story goes back to 2008. I hadn't got around to scrapping this little story, apart from mentioning in briefly in a mini book. So when Twisted Sketches threw in 'Animals' as the twist of the week, this came instantly to mind.

Now onto the gifts.
Carrying on from a couple of pages yesterday, made using the new Cocoa Daisy kit.
I've also made a couple of gifts bits.



I wrapped a box of choccies for a friend, tied with gardening string and made this little thank you tag.



One of the addons at Cocoa Daisy this month is a My Mind's Eye Glittered Chipboard Album. You can see it here. I love this album and it's only $5.25. Bargain!!
I decided to take it to bits and used the back cover as my menu board.
I've attached magnets to the back.



I like to write a menu each week, but it's always just a piece of note paper stuck to the fridge. It looks nicer now like this : )
The note cards are all tied to the top with the ribbon that came with the album.



Basic Grey Chipboard alphas and lots of glitter.



The chipboard flower and the button are Crate Restoration from the kit and the butterflies, leaves and paper twirls are all cut from the papers in the kit.



My Fancy Pants box was sent on Monday. I am so excited about it arriving. I've been making sketches and notes about what I want to make : )

One for the Diary

Yes, I have some very important dates for your diary.

I promise you, you will love it. I've been attending the crops for some time and have had the best time with each one. Great inspiration and great prizes too.

I've put together a paint class with step by step instructions.
And there will be various other challenges, games and lots of fun.



You don't have to get the kits or use the kits, you just need to register to join in with the nicest bunch of girls.

I've loved this kit. It has a homely feel, Crate Restoration, Doilees, warm colours, it's just lovely.

I also snapped this surprise shot of Louis a couple of weeks ago as he climbed in for a cuddle after just waking up.





I finally have a quiet house again. Just me and the animals until 3pm.
It's been loud and crazy since Tuesday. Cooking and cleaning around 12 is hard going, but I miss them all and cried when I waved my Dad off this morning.
I can't wait to have them all back again on Saturday. But I have lots of catching up to do between now and then. This includes some scrapping : )

Sunday Challenge

Hi,

Here's the new Studio Challenge. A sketch this week, with a slight twist of 'Halloween'.



I kind of side stepped the Halloween theme and used a photo that was taken last October of my Dad and the Grandkiddies. I then used Oranges, browns and reds keeping in with the theme of this time of year.
These are strips of papers cut from last months Cocoa Daisy Kit, an added tag and some misting using Tattered Angels 'Peppermint' Yum!!

All Abit Crazy

To say the very least.
We currently have 5 kids and 6 adults staying at our house with another arriving tomorrow.I love having my family around me, they are a great bunch, but it's hard work. I felt like I didn't sit down for 2 seconds yesterday, always someone calling my name, the kettle to be put on, meals to make. Always something.
But the kids have been so so well behaved. They love all being together, so that's a blessing : )
I am missing coming into my room to play. My fingers are aching to make something. Is that really sad that I can't go a couple of days?!!

So today I will share a page that I made last week for todays Sketchy Thursday sketch.
This sketch is perfect to scrap a day out. One of those days where you have a favourite photo and lots of others that you want to get on the page.

I used some JB packaging that I kept as I love the shape. It was laid on my page and misted over.



The stash is from last months Cocoa Daisy kit, teamed up with Sassafras alpha stickers (I love these) some twine and maya road mist spray.
