Sunday Challenge and a Preview
Yes, Sunday morning. Did you get a lie in? We did : )
8.30am and my Dad rang me from the States to say he was leaving. 2.30am his time and he gets into London, all being well 10.45pm tonight. That's not funny.
So still in pj's and I have a lovely latte made by my latte king : )
So here's The Studio's brand new challenge and it's a sketch. I love this sketch, don't you?
Use the sketch and a monochromatic colour scheme if you fancy playing along.
I did actually forget that part, can you tell or did I get away with it?
This is actually abit of a cheeky LO. Please forgive me, but I admit to having a cheeky side to me. And besides, this particular event I was lead astray but my very naughty little sister. It was all her fault.
Lots of lovely Sassafras and one of my favourite punches. I love the slimline EK Sucess punches. Punched and the petals folded in slightly.
Ade and I and our partners in crime my sis and her hubby Ben. 2 of my most favourite people.
I also have this to share with you this morning.
If you get Cocoa Daisy kits, you are in for a treat this month. There's something very special about this kit. I have fallen completely in love with it. It's just beautiful and has the most powerful stroke appeal.
They go on sale on the 1st Dec, get in there first before they sell out. Here.
I can honestly say, after receiving these kits for almost 2yrs now, it's the first one I've struggled to cut into as it's so so beautiful.
And here are my secret peeks of what I've made so far. All will be revealed next week : )
Enjoy your Sunday.
Stay warm xxx

November Rut
Hi!!!
This months challenge at Cocoa Daisy is all about getting yourself out of a rut.
Anja set it this month and tells us to list 2 things that we tend to use on most LO's.
For me this is obviously paint and also distressed edges. These are now forbidden on the page.
And instead now list some items we never use or forget to use.
I listed rub-ons and stamps.
So these 2 items now have to be used.
Here's my page.
Using the Cocoa Daisy November kit.
And some very old rub-ons and stamps.
I love how the ends of the papers curl slightly by not sticking down the edges completely.
If you like this challenge and want to join in, visit Cocoa Daisy here.
Off to watch Louis play football this morning. It's far too cold for that!!
Have fun xx

Stuff
G'morning.
Friday again. So pleased it's the weekend tomorrow.
I know many friends have snow right now, I hope you are managing ok.
No snow for us yet but it is exepected. I'm praying we don't get any.
My aunt suddenly died last week and we have the funeral to go to at the other side of Oxford on Tuesday. Dad is coming back from the States on Sunday night. I just want everything to be able to run smoothly.
I can't wait to see Dad again, but sad it's for this reason.
Onto a lighter note, Twisted Sketches.
A new sketch this week with a new twist. Check it out here.
And here's my page from last week. The twist was 'history'. I just love the history of London. It's amazing walking along and thinking of everything that's happened here over many many years.
I love this photo I took. Standing up near the National Gallery, looking over Trafalgar over to Big Ben. Just perfect with the Union Flag and red buses in the background.
And lastly today.
Have you heard about the new App available for Apple lovers?
A Scrapbooking App. Sketches2Scrapbook.
Over 100 sketches and for just $4.99.
I was lucky enough to be asked to join in and create a couple of samples for this new venture.
If this App is of interest to you, visit the site here for more details.
Hugs

Our Wii Family
Ready for a Thursday Sketch?
Here's the new one at Sketchy Thursdays.
I've taken an older photo for this one back from Christmas 2007 when we first got the wii. So this is our little Wii Family.
And I've dug back into a Cocoa Daisy kit from September.
The back ground has been spary misted using a 12x12 sheet of alphas, with the alphas all pushed out. And just squares cut out from the patterened paper that's still left over. A great way to use up scraps.
Happy Thanksgiving to my American family and friends today. Enjoy your family day and feasts.
Love
Lisa xxxxx

Winter Mini Book
Hiya,
It's most definitely feeling like winter now.
Coats, hats, scarves, gloves.
But I am liking it, I must say. I do feel cozy and I like cozy.
I am the wrap up snug, hot water bottle, warm nicely painted mug of latte and a snuggle kinda girl.
So when I got asked to create something with the Die Cut Paper from the Hot Chocolate range from Fancy Pants, I felt rather excited. Have you seen this range? It's a fave winter collection of mine officially now. You can see it here.
Fancy Pants - Hot Chocolate
So I've created a Winter Mini Book with the above paper for my book cover.
If you would like to see more : ) Pop on over to the Fancy Pants Blog here.
Some of the girls have made beautiful LO's that are worth a look too.
Gets you in the wintrey mood.
Thanks for stopping xx

Shopping
Good Morning,
Today. the subject we are talking about at The Studio is 'Shopping'.
Something that most of us are talking about this time of year.
The challenge is:
Have you started (or finished) your Christmas shopping? This week your challenge is to scrapbook about shopping! Maybe you'll scrap your shopping list, pictures of your favourite purchases or journal about how much you detest heading to the supermarket.
I decided to scrap something that I have no photo for, so chose a cheaky pic of Louis when he was 3, when this game first came about. Our shopping game.
Click on the photo to be able to read about our game.
We currently have a challenge over at Cocoa Daisy to keep you page clean. Strip it right back. So this is what I had in mind for my design whilst making this. Look no inks, paints of mists : )
I used a Cocoa Daisy kit from a couple of months ago.
So if you have a shopping LO in mind, if you fancy joining in or you would look to take a look at what the other members of The Studio came up with. Then click here.
And talking of shopping, I need to get ready. Ade and I are collecting somthing for Hollie for Christmas this morning and it's very big.
Have a lovely day xxx

Some Little Sneaks!
I have some little sneaks to share with you this morning.
I'm liking the look of the December Cocoa Daisy kit LOTS!!
Doesn't it look beautiful? I can't wait for it to arrive.
And these are a little taster of the addons.
And finally a sneak of my LO now over at Twisted Sketches, ready for this weeks new challenge. Visit Twisted Sketches to see more : )
Still feeling under the weather. No voice, cough and so so tired.
A friend kindly grabbed Louis for me from school yesterday and kept him for tea which helped me out loads. I had a horrid headache all day and ended up in bed : (
But on the upside, Hollie baked cheese scones at school which were delish : )
Enjoy your day.
I'll be back later as it's a Sketchy Thursday xxx

Cold Hands, Warm Heart
You'll need to bare with me today. I'm not feeling too good.
No voice, sore throat and abit heady : (
But I want to share this LO I made this week using some of the beautiful Fancy Pants goodies that arrived last week.
I used the Hot Chocolate papers which I love. I love these colours. The feel wintery but at the same time have a touch of warmth to them too.
The snowflakes have been punched from regular A4 white printer paper that had gotten in the way when I was misting.
I hope you like my page. I love that cheeky photo of Louis.
Have a great day xxx

In the Attic
Morning,
Another Cocoa Daisy page from me first thing today.
One of the challenges this weekend (set by Christine)was called: In the Attic.
We had to include:
-a piece of memorabilia (can be recent or old)
-a piece of fabric, ribbon or lace
-handwritten journaling
I've made this LO about my Grandparents. I grew up really close to them. The photo is of my Grandad and I and the card is my first birthday card from them.
I made a pocket from side wide Websters Pages ribbon, so the card can be pulled out
(the photo is only stuck down on one side to enable this).
Inside the card I've written a letter to my grandparents.
And onto Papermaze.
Another colour combo this week.
I made this card. Visit the blog to see more.
And that's it from me for today.
Thanks for popping in.
Have a good one x

Something Fancy
Good Morning,
After a full Cocoa Daisy weekend (and I have the bags under my eyes to prove it)
I am shattered. It's been so much fun though.
I have been working on some pieces for Fancy Pants too. I am loving all their beautiful collections. The page above is now in the Fancy Pants gallery which you can see in full here. My first pieces in the gallery : ) Still seems strange having something there.
And this next one was the 1hr challenge LO at Cocoa Daisy last night.
I couldn't resist playing along with this one. We had one hour to find the following and make a page:
a tag from something around the house...NOT SCRAPBOOKING...so clothing tag, tea bag tag..etc
use a book page or music sheet some where on the page
5 buttons (5 shall be the number, no more no less...)
2 photos (only 2)
something recycled
My recycled item was a coffee filter that I ounched into strips and misted.
A page about Ade making the best lattes. He's my latte superhero.
I do question the shape he makes though on my lattes. I makes hearts. He tells me this is a mushroom. I think otherwise!!
Talking of him. He;s off work today. Trying to use up excess holiday days. So we are off to the healthclub now. And home then for lattes, grilled cheese sandwiches and a film. Sounds good : )
Hope you had a good weekend xxx

I am Lucky!!!!
Yes I am. It's so easy when you are feeling down about stuff to forget the good things we actually have.
This weeks challenge at The Studio is about just that:
This week,we want you to think about how lucky you are! Do you consider yourself 'lucky'? What is your idea of luck? Create a project about YOU and what being lucky means in your eyes.
C'mon over and show us your Lucky pages.

Bathroom and Kids Room
That's the next two challenges.
If you like the look of this page, visit me at Cocoa Daisy here, where I have a paint class with step by step instructions with photos on creating this bubble background.
And here is The Girls Room. Kim gave a photo for inspiration plus a list of 'must haves'.
Take a look here for more details.
I'm taking a break soon for family time of X Factor and KFC : )
In the Kitchen
The next challenge bought by Cocoa Daisy, late last night is this one.
In the Kitchen.
Anna challenged us to document something from our everyday kitchen lives and you need to use something from your kitchen on your page too.
I stamped the doiley stamp that came in this months Cocoa Daisy kit onto a brown cupcake case and cut out.
Take a look here and see how Anna used a cracker on her page.
I also want you to take a look at Ronda's class from last night.
In the Libary.
It's just stunning.
I have a paint class starting at 4pm (uk time) if you want to join me on the Cocoa Daisy borads.
