Day 3 - Finally Sunshine

YAY!!!!!! We have sunshine.

We started the day with a shopping trip to Super Target.
Scrapbooking bits, cute shoes, books and a trip to Starbucks.

Despite the temp only being 50f we went to the pool. It was like a bath, so warm and we've all ended up catching the sun abit.

The kids loved having this pool all to ourselves.

And the hot tubs were so cosy.

We've ended up the day with having a really good dinner out. A big buffet full of sillyness and giggles and loads of pudding.

Tomorrow is Epcot.
Happy Valentines xxx

Rain Rain Go Away

Come again another day.

We stopped by Magic Kingdom this morning whilst the rain was barable.
The plus side, no queues for anything.
Here we are on the train with a whole carriage to ourselves : )

The kids loved space Mountain.
Fingers crossed for sunshine tomorrow.

Highlight of the day.... seeing big black volchures eating off a huge black warthog/pig dead thing at the side of the road.

Day 1 at Disney - Meet & Greet

So here we are in Florida.
We arrived to sunshine and awoke to more sunshine this morning but very very cold.
Just above freezing. So pleased I decided to take jeans at the last minute.

So day 1 and Animal Kingdom. We started off on a safari.

Although it was very cold and I ended up buying scarves for the kids, we didn't have to wait for anything. Last time it was 90mins to meet the characters this time we meet them all.

It's not everyday you get smooched by Minnie Mouse.
Louis didn't want to meet Minnie, because she's a girl!!

It's been a great day and did warm up in the end. The kids have been great : )
Early nights though tonight as we've been up since 4.30am.

We've planned magic kingdom for tomorrow but rain is forcast so we will see.

Lots of love xxxx

1 more sleep to go...

And I have butterflies in my tummy. I feel organised and excited but abit nervous too. We left Poppy-Dog at Mum's yesterday and I'm surprised to say I am missing her really badly. I usually complain that she smells and leaves fur on the kids school uniforms, but I'm missing her following me around.

I wanted to do the last Sketchy Thursday challenge before we head off. I loved this sketch as soon as I saw it.
As much as I hate Sponge Bob, Dad loves it. The kids find that so funny.
So here is Dad caught in the act, watching Sponge Bob with all 5 Grand kiddies : )
(I think it's dead cute really)

And today, a quickie.
A cocoa daisy scrap lift challenge.
I rarely scrap Ade's family, I guess most of my stuff is about the kids, so here's one for Ade's album.

I'm still finishing up work before we head off, so that's what I'm about to get back to.

One last post tomorrow before we leave for Gatwick after tea.
Have a good day xx

Best Day

We are getting closer and closer to our Florida trip. This time next week we should be in the sky : )
I still keep going back to scrap our Florida trip almost 3 years ago. I can't believe it's been so long.
I've scrapped these 3 photos from our fave day which was at Islands of Adventure. We can't wait to go back. We have the best memories of this place.
I've used this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch and an old Cocoa Daisy kit. There's something very satisfying about using an older kit.

And here is Hollie at one with nature using the recent sketch on Creative Scrappers.

I see the girl in future years being a greenpeace supporter or something along those lines, saving tigers or something.

CD Scraplift

Another one from me : )
Not doing too badly lately. Noticing my style is cleaner than usual this week. Funny how you go through phases.
This is a Cocoa Daisy Scraplift contest. I've some older bits from CD kits. It's lovely looking through old kits sometimes, you completely forget what you've got stashed away.

I've had my haircut this morning in preparation for our Florida trip. Nothing major, a good trim and layer and the curls have bounced back.
Just a couple more jobs before heading off to school x

Round and Round

I've been inspired today by this sketch on Sketchy Thursdays Blog.
Lots of circles.
This is what I've made using this months Cocoa Daisy kit. If you fancy using the sketch. Don't forget to link back to Sketchy Thurdsays.

I found this old photo taken in a street of where I grew up in Ratingen, Germany. I wish I had more photos. I was a teen in those days and loved it for the fun things back then like watching ice hockey, ice cream parlours, pizzerias, shopping, a great outside swimming pool etc... I don't remember the town being so beautiful.

So when I finished that LO, I cracked straight onto the latest Colorcombos challenge. And the circles stuck.

Another one using the cocoa daisy kit.

I really hated the fact that my Mum enjoyed dressing us the same eventhough I was 5 yrs older.

Counting Down

Yes we are, as we leave home for Orlando in 2 weeks and 1 day. I'm so so excited : )
And counting down to Louis' 8th Birthday, 1 sleep to go. I have one very excited little boy.
So it's all smiles and butterfly tummies in this house.

So, scrapping. I need a day or even an evening of uninterupted scrapping bliss. I really feel the need for it. I hope it happens before we go.
I did take part in another scraplift contest over at Cocoa Daisy this weekend. But again it was another rushed one. Done inbetween helping with homework, making dinner, baking birthday cakes, bathtime and bedtime. With lots of 'just coming' being shouted out from me in my room.

I forgot to show the last one I did for Cocoa Daisy during the scraplift contest at the beginning of the month. (see above) I love that photo taken on Boxing day. Louis with his new DSI with his guinea pig under his arm. He kept taking a piccie of him and then changing the photo so the G.Pig looked like rat. If you've seen DSI's you'll understand what I mean.

This is another Cocoa Daisy. A weekly prompt this time.

I have a chocolate explosion cake to go ice now. I will share photos another time.

Another Quick Post

I'm sure someone has pressed the fast foward button on my life right now. Everything I seem to do is rushed. I run from one thing to the next.
Here is a LO that I did yesterday in stages between doing many other things.
It's a Cocoa Daisy prompt. To use old papers and embellishments.

I've scrapped about My Little Nanny.

It's Louis's birthday on Tuesday so my sister and her family will be here in about 3 hours to celebrate with us this weekend. I'm almost done with my tax return too. Just off to finish that now, but need to quickly clean the bathrooms and hoover first...go go go.

Have a lovely weekend xx

Meatball Monday

Just a quick show and tell from me today.
This cold of mine is sticking around for week 2 by the looks : (
My head is throbbing and I feel yuk!
I wanted to show my latest making for The Studio. (see above)

This latest challenge goes like this:

1. Take your alphas and alter them. Maybe you have a font you love but in the wrong colour – well change them! Show us what you can do!
2. Use a symmetrical page design – everything on one side should balance what’s on the other.
3. Use fabric of some kind on your page!

Again, the DT used the lovely Studio Calico kit that we each got sent.

And this is the previous weeks sketch from Sketchy Thursday.

That's it from me.
Hope you had a great weekend. TFL xxx

Feeling Rubbish

So please, Colorcombos launched a new challenge this weekend. I was so pleased as it's been a while since they did. And this is what I made.

Anyway, I'm full of cold and feeling horrid today.
And it's teatime, so no time for lovely chat today : (

New Year....New Challenge

At The Studio.
And it goes like this:

  1. Make a page that includes a lot of “white space”.
  2. The subject of your page should be something that scares you; scrap your fears!
  3. Use 3 photos in the design of your page – but don’t forget that white space!

I scrapped all about fearing about being a good parent and how I try to do my best all the time.
The DT were lucky enough to receive a Studio Calico kit each to play with for our January challenges. How lucky are we : )

And now on to the topic I think the whole of the UK is talking about......SNOW
and lots of it too. I stuck the ruler in the front garden at 11.30am and it continued to snow heavily until about tea time.
So now schools again for us today.

Poppy enjoyed it too : )

Hope you are warm and snug xx

Happy New Year

Happy New Year !!!

I'm sorry, I'm just so pants at updating this place, general blog hopping and forum visiting over the Christmas Season.
I am now slowly getting back into the swing of things.
It's snowing like crazy here.

Stay warm and cozy

My Latest Creations

I sat and watched Kirsty Allsop's 'Homemade Christmas' tv programme last night. I really love her shows. Anyway I felt so inspired, I fetched these jute bags, my bucket of Scarlet lime bits and pieces and made these for Chrsitmas gifts.

I then made this LO using this weeks Sketchy Thursdays Sketch.

I can't believe Hollie was just 2 (almost 3) when we went to Euro Disney. Her first Disney Fix. It really doesn't seem that long ago. She was so good. Louis was only 3 months old and I really didn't want 2 buggies or to burrow a double buggie, but she managed the whole 4 days on foot with not a single complaint. I never appreciated what a little angel she was when she was tiny.

Exciting Christmassy things going on here today. It's all very hush hush as it's a surprise for the kids. But it involves Ade taking an afternoon off and us going out and choosing something big, green that smells wonderful : )

Have a good day xx

Just a Quickie

It's almost halfway through the week already. The days are ticking away rather quickly.
I still have some LO's to show from The Studio's Cyber Crop Weekend that I need/want to share.

Above is my Louis and Nephew Charlie. I love using the Swiss Dots card.

Below are my babies.

And one of Louis again.
Finally cracked the Monkey Bars this Autumn.
(and I still can't do them!!)

Click the piccie if you want to see up close.

Lots of stuff going on with us as with most other families this time of year...school stuff galore and huge amounts to do.

I now have packed lunches to make and Holby City to catch up on.

Chat soon xx

How to MoonWalk Sarah-Jane Style

Having a lovely Christmassy weekend here.
Here is a Christmas LO I recently made during The Studio's Charity weekend.
This was Christmas 2008. I wish Hollie would have her hair cut like that again. It's got so long and it looks so lovely shorter like that.

Did you want to know How to Moonwalk Sarah-Jane style????
Well, this is my crazy little sis on a lovely family walk.

Catch the Moon???

On that note, I shall leave you to enjoy the rest of your weekend : )
