Just Bex Challenge Time

Feeling slightly more human today : )
Just feel like I have a hangover....so hopefully by having a good sleep tonight I will feel back to normal again tomorrow.
Planning to go and see Hotel for Dogs tomorrow. The kids have been looking forward to it, so will hopefully be fun.
I'm launching my last challenge of the week on Just Bex today. A nice easy one.
The challenge is, to make a card or LO using the same colours. I don't mind a different colour sneaking in there, but it needs to be very obvious what the main colour is.
Here is my green LO.
And my pink card.
Have a happy weekend.
love 'n' xxxx

Still got the sniffs

Sorry if you are now fed up with my moaning about feeling poorly, but I'm still not feeling better today : ( I have abit more of a voice today thankfully though.
Have made some yummy veg soup today.
I started this LO yesterday and finished this morning using scrapagogos Feb kit and used colourcombos weekly inspiration.

I'm very particular with my mugs and everyone has to have the correct one.
Off to carry on sniffing now xx

So Loved Up.....

With my little house. Isn't it cute???!!
This was all Hollie's idea. At the crappy craft show on Saturday, we were just leaving and Hollie spotted these cute little maya road houses. Naturally being 9 and having no money of her own she wanted us both to have one...so yet again that day, I dug deep and we both came away with one. She had an inset day on Monday, so whilst Louis was laid sick on the sofa, we sat at the table and made these. Hollie using her lovely Prima Marketing papers that she...sorry I bought her at the show. (the girl is such a paper snob already.....no idea where she gets that from)
The roof lifts off to reveal the tag book inside. Hollie still needs to finish hers, but is doing well.
I've used sassafras and some gorgeous stickers that came with a scrapagogo kit last year.

Btw... still feeling poorly and hardly have any voice now : (

This is my last piccie of the tag book.

And here is a card I made using Sue's sketch on Just Bex.
That's it for now. I'm in the midst of a LO using the colours from colorcombosgalore
so will try and get that finished and show tomorrow. xx

2 Challenges from me

We have been such a poorly household lately. Finally kids are back to school and Ade is back to work...all sicky bugs finally gone, but now I'm full of cold. What rotten luck : (

Oh well, hasn't stopped me from crafting. It's my turn on Just Bex this week.
Here's my challenge:

For quite some time I've really had a thing for kraft paper...you know the old parcel paper.
So my challenge is to make a card using kraft type paper (parcel paper wrap will do) and contrast it with some white and funky brights. I just love that look.

And I've also made this card using some cogsmo papers from Sassy Crafts.
These papers never fail when there's a little boys card to be made.

Colorcombo #110

Well, it's been a funny old week. Kids had the lurgie, then Ade and I went to the New Forest...alone for 3 days. I booked a suite in a lovely old country hotel/spa....and got sick. How typical is that !!! We still had a lovely time though. We got home on Thursday and Ade got sick and then Louis got sick again yesterday. I'm so fed up with germs : (

I've still managed to fit in some craft time. My wekitunot stuff has been made and sent off, I've made a sassy crafts project, made the Just Bex challenge samples for this week and have made this LO today for the last colourcombo challenge here . My absolute fave challenge blog.

The colours were pale aqua, cream, orange and yellow. I've used sassafras, October afternoon and some nik naks from a scarletlime kit.

Hollie has had an inset day today and all day long we've been making our maya road chipboard house. It comes with a mini book too. We've had so fun much. I'll photograph and show tomorrow.
Off to bath kids now xx

This weekend I have mosting been.....

scrappin' & cleaning up sick.....lovely !!!

So let see..... to break it all down, I scrapped til late Friday evening, scrapagogo kit arrived Saturday morning, baked with Louis, had my lovely friend Nicky and her family visit for lunch, went for a walk up the common which resulted in children going through ditches up past the tops of their wellies (their choice) wellies being filled with ice and water, Louis then moaning and crying because he was cold to then cut the walk short with him crying all the way home, cosy Saturday night with choccie fondue and then when kids went to bed Ade made my fave, cheese pudding whist I scrapped. Hollie started being sick at 11.30pm and did so every hour until about 10.30am : ( Didn't get to see my sis on her birthday yesterday as Hollie was sick, but did get to dive into my Scrapagogo kit and make 2 LO's...yay !!!

Hollie is much better today and noisy again.
Here's my weekend makings: (click piccie to read the story behind this LO)

This was Louis baking banana cake with me on Saturday. I've used the new Scrapagogo kit and based it on Jane's sketch from Scrapagogo. The challenge also had to include food.

I made this sign for my little sis to hang in her hallway.
This was based on a sketch that Bex gave as a challenge on the Just Bex forum.
I've used some of the Dec Scrapagogo kit and a little bit of Dec Cocoa Daisy kit.
And here is a LO that was made for my big mini book that I'm still making.
The sketch I used was from the mojoholder blog a couple of weeks ago.
More bits from old Scarletlime and Cocoa Dasiy kits.
and lastly I made these cards for my children. I very last minute idea.
I used Basic Grey and Cosmo Cricket papers from Sassy Crafts.

and that's it...thanks for looking xx

My Urge....and my win : )

Yet another funny ol' week with no routine. Snow last week, poorly Louis this week. I've decided to keep him off tomorrow aswell now. He's much better but only actually started eating again this evening. Such a relief, he's a skinny bean at the best of times. But it's school holidays for a week from tomorrow ...yay !!!

I forgot to share this LO with my lil blog. I started it at Sue's last month. It was for a competition on UKS. The LO was to be inspired by a book cover. Think it was a crime mystery novel. It was turquoise with a faint black drawing of London (big ben & houses of parliment) in the background....this is what I came up with.

This LO is all about my urge to travel. It's such a love of mine and we haven't been abroad since we got married nearly 2 years ago....I feel such an urge to go off again somewhere..... well Ade and I are off for a spa break for 2 nights in the New Forest next week, but that doesn't count and we've decided to go to Charmouth, Dorset (fossil hunting) for Easter, but that doesn't really count either. I sound like an ungrateful moo I know....but it doesn't ease my urge to go go .
I've been lucky enough to have worked for an airline when I was very young, so got to go away lots and I guess growing up abroad gave me the bug too. I just can't describe that feeling though...the love to explore and learn.
I scribbled the places that I've been lucky enough to go to, around the outside of the LO, but since photographing I keep remembering other places I've been to, started making another list around the edge now.
Oh and by the way...I won the competition : )
I'm supposed to be cleaning my scrappy studio, but keep getting side tracked xx

Me..me...me....

It's a 'ME' layout today. All about 'ME'.
I've decided this is something I should do every year. Think it'll be good for the kids to look back on and me to watch my aging process...how depressing !!!
This was a challenge set on UKS at the weekend to make a girlie LO using no pinks. So this is what I came up with.

I'm really pleased with how those flowers turned out. It was an inside flap of a box that was lying in my paper bin when I was making this....out it came and so did the flower sizzix dies that I forgot I had. I just love the whole kraft bown paper thing. Must get some more of those B.G. little chipboard alphas too. There are so many in a pack...I need MORE !!!!!
Right poorly boy still at home, he's due a check. Feeling much better today mind, he's off the sofa and playing with lego again, always a goodn sign xx

Fancy a Challenge????

Have you checked out this months wekitunot challenge?
It's all about embossing this month.
Do you get a monthly kit, if so come and have a nose and join in.
Here's my LO and card that I made using last months Scrapagogo kit.

I love this picture that Louis drew. Daved is Louis's little fox that goes to bed with him. He gets warmed up in the microwave.

Got a poorly boy sicky on the sofa today, so can't stay long xx

Am I too old for Pigtails???

Ade took this photo of me at the Infants school Barn Dance on Saturday evening. I like having pigtails sometimes, but do worry that at 33...nearly 34, maybe I'm abit to old now : (

It was cyber crop weekend at UKS, it was so much fun. I managed to churn out 9 LO's, so rather chuffed. This was a class that I did, although didn't stick to the full instrustions, kind of did a scrap lift really, but I'm pleased with it which is what counts eh?!!

Will show you more tomorow. xx

Cyber Crop on UKS

Last night was the start on the Cyber Crop on UKS. So I set my alarm for 5am to get a good start. Here's my first LO that I made this morning.
Had to use brights and non scrapbooky stuff.
I used :
A piece of card at the back to stick it all to, a piece of fabric that I bought in 2003. I know it was then as that was when I had my first trip to Ikea at the start of setting up Funky Fairies and I bought it then and never used it, the brown kraft paper is a costa coffee paper bag, the heart at the bottom is the handle of the bag cut in 2 and painted and then 2 stationery clips at the top.

and 1 very cheeky Louis : )

And the next challenge was to use a file card (which I ended up making myself) inks and buttons.

Great start to the day xx

Centre Parcs Mini Book

Here is my mini book that I created with my cyber crop mystery kit from UKS. The kit was sent from the craft emporium, I was so pleased with what I was sent...lots of October Afernoon goodies. Just can't go wrong with those.
I got to work straight away and created this mini book whilst at Sue's cropping last month. There are 8 pages in total. Here are a few...

Thanks for looking xx

Mojo Holder & Another Snowy LO

Still snowing...... 5 days on and it's no longer fun. It's wet, cold and miserable. As I type, the snow falling has turned to sleet. Everything looks mucky and yucky outside.

I found a new challenge site this week which I really like the the look of. Lovely sketches.I found it on Angie's blog. I love the LO's Angie creates, they are so inspirational. The challenge blog is mojoholder. And here is my latest snowy LO for my book using the mojoholder sketch:

Louis loves his snowman. Ade and myself started him on Monday and Louis finished him on Tuesday afternoon by adding a head and face and a pair of very long arms. He was going to put gloves on the end of each arm, but decided he might get too warm and melt, so left them off.
Bobby is partly still standing : )
I've used my scarletlime kit again and added some B.G chipboard alphas. I got the needle and thread out for this one too.
Nearly finished the next page of this book, it's going really well. xx
