The 'ins and outs' of my Travel Journal

I know I've been promising this, so I'm sorry it's taken me so long. I had said to the Swindon ladies that I would post the pages of this book. I've finally just edited the photos, so here you go.
The ins and outs of my Travel Journal.

This is the Travel Journal Class that I taught in Swindon recently.
We used a chipboard cover and a piece of card for the back. Three pieces of MME Honey Bee papers and I just love that big leaf stamp from this Cocoa Daisy Kit.

I used little kraft envelopes in the book and decorated some tags.
These are a great way to add journaling to you book.

One of my fave traveling moments, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. It was back in 1996 and that was taken with a normal point and shoot camera, that's how vibrant those colours were.

I've made little pockets throughout the book. The pages have been kept to the same size and then triangles cut and just 2 of the sides stuck down leaving the 1 side free to slide things in.

This is my Disneyland, San Diego Zoo, Hollywood, The Coastal Drive to San Francisco, Alcatraz and Las Vegas page. I've added a longer piece of card and stuck it onto the main page then folded in between the photos. It then folds up neatly inside the book when it's not being looked at.

The flight to the Grand Canyon and the Canyons themselves.
I've used the leaf stamp throughout the book.

I decided to use book rings so that I could add extra bit and pieces.
Having worked for Lufthansa, I have lots of bits from flights . Just seeing those tickets brings back many work memories for me.

A trip to St Louis whilst visiting Dad in Indiana one time.

I added holes to this envelope and used it as a pocket for bits and pieces of our Lanzarote holiday.

On the back of the envelope I added another little pocket. This page I have made slightly longer as I wanted to journal about our Barcelona trip. I folded over the excess bit of the page to make it the same size.

I trimmed off the top of a kraft envelope and stuck on to this page.
Another way of making a pocket for keepsakes.

This is our first trip to Florida as a family. When Ade and I got married back in 2007.
I made this page larger too so I could add larger and more photos. It also folds away neatly.

Similar to how I made the triangular pockets I also made this rectangular pocket. Another way to hold and kit extra bits safe.

I also have extra pages made and ready for our next trip : )

It's one of the journals that I shall keep adding to.
I have other photos in the attic that I can't find. I would love to add those one day too.

I just love the type of journals that have so many bits and pieces to look out and see. It's layered and very busy. I like it this way.

Just one last thing.
I'm teaching in Swindon next week again. (Sunday 22nd) We are making House Shaped Printer Trays. These are sooooo cute. Here's a sneak for now. I'll post more details tomorrow.

Lots of love xxx
