Brand, Spanking New

I got up early to creat this morning. I don't know why though, I'm shattered. Didn't go to bed until after midnight again, Ade was up feeling rough in the night which woke me, then Louis came in several times from 5am onwards....nice.

So here is what I created this morning. Another of the 365 cards. It's 'LOVE' themed today. So I've made this for a friend's 15th wedding anniversary.


And I finished this LO that I started last night using the brand spanking new Cocoa Daisy kit.
I love it when I dive straight into a kit. Nothing more satisfying than cutting into new papers : )
It's a prompt from Cocoa Daisy this week to make a double LO.
I haven't done one of these for years, so I've created this for my on going Easter project.

Our first fishing trip.

The new Scarletlime kit has just arrived and is sitting very patiently on my desk waiting to be opened : ) The box feels very heavy.........must be the additional project kit that I happended to buy too....goodie goodie !!!

Twice in one day and....

4 cards in one week....

What's going on ??????

2 weeks ago I was actually buying cards. To create a card had seriously become a chore rather than something I longed to do.
Here's card number 4 that I made today. I popped over to the lovely Audrey Tan for some inspiration....queen of cards I may add. Then I clicked on this link 365 cards. Audrey takes part in alot of these, so thought I'd give one a bash seeing as I needed to make FIL a card.
It's all about 'brights and stripes' today.

My new scrapagogo kit came in rather handy with that cosmo cricket paper. Stamped up a couple of images, opened up the new promarker pens that landed through my door today and finished off with a touch of fairy dust : )

Very Cocoa Daisy

I've been over at Cocoa Daisy alot this week.
I've taken part in quite alot of the prompts and challenges. I've just been in that scrappy mood again.
I'm really pleased with the LO below. The photo was taken back in 1996. I just loved Sanfrancisco and it still remains one of , if not the best place I've been to so far.
The challenge was from the weekend summer crop on Cocoa Daisy. The challenge was to lift one of the design teams styles. I went with Ronda's style. I adore Ronda's creations. She is so inspirational. Take a nose at her blog at see what I mean.
So here's what I created with Ronda's style in mind.

Next up is the cocoa daisy weekly challenge.

I don't usually get around to joining in with these but this one instantly grabbed me. Funny though as it's so not my style at all. The challenge is to create a grid.

The journaling reads....

I've been driving past this opening in the trees for th past 11 years. Today we stopped to see what was beyond the gate. Loaded with the kid's scooters we found this little wilderness.

If you are surprised by the lack of paint on this one, fear not....the mini brads have been painted orange : )

Cyber Crop Time again.....

The Cocoa Daisy cyber crop was so much fun last night. 4 hours was quite good actually but went by so quickly.

I did a class...see below. But had to seriously improvise. I had no masks or sprays, so found an old stencil thing that came free with a card mag yonks ago (see, knew it would come in handy one day) and stabbed paint through the gaps.
Quite pleased with it.


Some embroidery has been done too and I randomly added some stickles clear glitter.
The journaling reads:
my deer, SWEET, Hollie. You light up any room you walk into with your smile, your energy and your fun personality. You really are the apple of my eye.

Here's a 30min card challenge I took part in....as many layers as poss.

And here's the 50min LO we needed to create using a grid.

I went super blank to start with, but splahed down sone paint and I was away : )

Even ended up sewing around the edge too.

It was a really fun evening and I won a prize at the end too.

Who's the Kid????

I've woken up so early.
I went to bed early as I'd been fighting a headache all afternoon and knew this would happen.
But I had bad dreams so I'm happy to be up enjoying the peace and quite and about to start scrapping. Shall go and make latte first though : )

I made this one yesterday. I just adore the swiss dots cards.....and so does my paint : )

The husge flower was in my Scarletlime kit. I took it to bits though and added the blue button.

This was a sketch from Sue at Cocoa Daisy.

I love these photos. During halfterm we met my Sister in Oxford and took the Kids to the Museum of Natural History. We love it there. It's so kid friendly and kids are encouraged to touch stuff. There's dinosaur skeletons and loads to see.

We were lazing about in the sun before we went in. There's big dino footprints on the lawn infront of the museum, the boys love sitting in them as they are so big.....but suddenly this broke out. Nice to see Ade being a kid too for a change.....he's far too grown up at times.

I'm off to scrap again. xx

Finally finished this one. Started it a while ago, I used a Bubblyfunk kit. But just couldn't finish it. I knew what I wanted to journal but wasn't sure how. Cocoa Daisy have a recent prompt to print journaling in white. I haven't tried this before and love the end result : )

Another Cocoa Dasiy Prompt....Use White Space.....yup, lots of white space on this one.

And then I used the Colorcombos colours of the week. I missed a few combos during my recent dry period. But this combo really fits with the May Scarletlime kit which was full of Primary Colours. The colourcombo is ...black, red, yellow and dark blue.

I took these photos of Hollie cartwheeling in legoland on the 1st June. If there's a space then she cartwheels. Thank the Lord that leggins are cool to wear under dresses right now, that's all I have to say!!!!

Cocoa Daisy are having their first Summer Party tomorrow (Sunday 14th June).
If the Spring Crop is anything to go by it's going to be a blast.
It's 5-9pm UK time.

Bitten by the bug...

The Scrap bug that is.

There was a recent prompt on Cocoa Daisy to use the same photo but make changes. So here I've added red and then changed to sepia.
This was Hollie's beautiful Christmas Christening back in 1999.

Finally....

Some scrappy time....not much of that going on round here lately : (
Just work work and work...but won't go on about it as it's boring.....but have just booked a very exciting holiday for February : ) It's all hush hush though as we aren't telling the kids until Christmas day.

Anyway, scrapping. A daily prompt from my fave hang-out place at the mo...cocoa daisy.
The challenge was to make a handmade flower. One reason why I chose this photo was that under the flower is a big head of an 'unknown'....kinda ruined the piccie : )

As I haven't scrapped for a while I have been struggling with the ol' mojo....so popped over to Scarletlime for some inspiration. I hadn't used any of last months kit either. So to give me the push I scraplifted 'Janna Wilsons' LO.

Guess What???!!!!......

I got my first proper piece of work in a magazine : )

I've had a few LO's in the Readers Gallery in Scrapbook Inspirations these past few months, so was so chuffed when I got asked to join in with the sketch challenge.
This is my LO that I worked on for the mag that's in this months edition.

I used March's Scrapagogo kit.

I've had a really busy time lately, trying to keep on top of work and be a Mum and everything else that's thrown at you each day. I haven't had much scrappy time which is a shame as I've had some lovely kits arrive this month.
I did manage this LO though a little while ago. It was a Cocoa Dasiy prompt to use some boy colours but don't scrap a boy.
So I scrapped Hollie instead : )

I hope half term is going well for you.

Hello : )

So, I don't blog for a whole week and now here comes a mega post.
The reason for not blogging, well nothing to tell. I've worked soild all week apart from a quick visit to get my nails done yesterday morning and a catchup costa coffee with lovely friend Claire.
So today, not only have I left the house and had chineese lunch with hubby, I've made Mum this mini book and the very last piccie here is a picture frame too that I've made today.

I'm so chuffed with this mini book. I've used all the stash from the latest Scrapagogo kit which arrived this week with some alphas, thickers and ribbons I've added to it. I've used gesso for the first time to create the texture on the cover which I loved using, lots of paint and some glitter sand too : )
I can't fit all the piccies in the 1 post, so have spread them out over 3.
We went to Charmouth over Easter. This is where Mum and Andy go all the time. Off in their little caravan. They are so happy down here and so excited when we visited last month and wanted to show us all the places they love. Seemed perfect making this book for her as she never takes photos and it's her birthday next week. I hope she loves it. We are visiting her tomorrow, so will find out then.

I've also made up this 5x7 frame for her of the latest grandchild Millie. I took this photo of them last month. Isn't Millie just the cutest little thing??!!

Am I mad?????

I desparately wanted to go to Radio 1's big weekend in Swindon. Ade and I both registered for tickets and so did all my family that live in Swindon....the only one that got them was my 21 yr old punk brother who doesn't even follow radio one and listens to things like Marilyn Manson. He was going to take a friend who then last night decided she wouldn't go as there was a 60% chance of rain.
We went to swindon last night. The Link centre where my sister works (the ice skating bit) had some of the radio 1 dj's in. So we left the kids with Mum and all went up. Sarah-Jane (my sis) was working, but my brother -in-law, his sisters and their partners were with us. It was such a laugh and the skating was fun.

Anyway, we got back to Mum's just before midnight and my brother asked me if I wanted to go with him today. I ended up declining : ( I feel gutted, but I had to come back with the kids and it takes over an hour to get to ours and we didn't get home until 1.30am. To then have to drive back to Swindon this morning again and I felt so guilty to Louis as Hollie is on a sleepover tonight and we were planning to do stuff with him and I know how much Ade wanted to go too.

So today I feel sad.....I so wanted to go : (

Long Weekend....long may it last.....

I love 3 day weekends. I feel so chilled. We've had a stay at home weekend which has been lovely. Layins followed by family breakfasts at the table, we explored a new part of the common yesterday. It was so beautiful, it felt like holiday, Ade's been gardening (whilst I scrapped) had a bbq, Hollie had a couple of friends for a sleepover and we've had a trip o the garden centre today...It's been lovely.

This one is for the UKS -SLYMI challenge - to scrap an outdoors photo.

I've used bits of my Scarletlime kit and some old Scrapagogo too. I love those rubons.

The story behind this photo.....my adoring Hollie's creative mind. She found a large pebble with a hole through it and it was automatically her camera.

And this one is a Cocoa Daisy challenge - I followed a sketch and used a stamp too. The sketch was turned and the stamp is a stitched journal stamp from Autumn Leaves. These bits are most Cocoa Daisy and a wee bit of scrapagogo.

We've just decided to go for a walk up the common before kids bathtime.

Just thought I'd show you this LO for our Easter album I made this week.
A Cocoa Daisy challenge (we were shown an advert to inspire our LO) and I've used Scarletlime bits to make it. Some old and some new.
We are in the middle of a girlie slumber party right now.
Hollie has 2 friends sleeping over. Hope we get some sleep xx

ColorCombos

I'm having a pretty busy scrapweek. I've made another LO this morning which I'll probaly put up tomorrow now. I've used oil paints and have managed to get yellow smeared everywhere.

I got asked to be feature member of the week at Colorcombos...yay !!!
You know how much I love those colorcombos.
So here's what I made using hot pink, red, yellow and white ......

Ended up being a bit of a therapy session making this one. Got rather emotional.

Scrap Crazy....

Oh dear... I got it bad....just can't stop scrappin'. It's not good you know, I've got so many other things to do, but I just can't stop myself. My head is just over flowing with ideas. I blame them over at Cocoa Daisy to be honest : )

My latest lO's are courtesy of the crop.
This one was inspired by some tv posters that we were shown. I love this photo, it makes me laugh. The kids are always pretending to be super heroes : )

I've used plenty of sassafras, paint, lots of layers and the local newspaper : )

The next one is my all time fave I think. Took me forever to plan and make.

It's quite odd, I don't like the 'tynchy stryder' type music, but listening to Radio 1 last week I listened to what was being sung and the words just about summed up me getting together with Ade. So all the journaling on the LO are the song lyrics

Rather chuffed with the outcome.
